October 18th 2026 is World Menopause Day.

This year, the International Menopause Society has chosen Chronic Pain at Midlife as its theme.

Pain isn’t always visible from the outside. It can sit behind a full workday, a commute, or a conversation where everything seems fine. It can affect sleep, movement, focus and mood, and too often, it goes unrecognized or is dismissed as simply part of getting older.

Pain has many possible causes. Hormonal changes may contribute for some women, but they are not the whole story. Every experience is different, and persistent pain deserves to be taken seriously.

That starts with listening. It means looking beyond a single symptom to consider the whole person: their health history, medications, risk factors and goals.

Your pain deserves to be heard. Your experience deserves a closer look.

Not sure where to start with your midlife health? The LIGHT™ Method offers a framework to help you better understand your symptoms and explore your next steps.

Start with the LIGHT Check-In. Click the link in our bio to get started.

Send this to someone who needs to hear it.

Swipe through. The numbers may surprise you.

Help change the conversation. Share this post to raise awareness, challenge the stigma, and help make better menopause care the standard.

A new step forward for menopause care in Canada.

The Menopause Foundation of Canada has released its Menopause Policy Agenda for Canada, calling for action across seven key areas, from provider education and equitable access to treatment, research, workplace support and reducing stigma.

Why does it matter? Because better menopause care requires more than awareness. It requires education, access, investment and action.

We’re grateful to the Menopause Foundation of Canada for helping move this important conversation forward.

File No. 6: “You need hormone testing to know if you’re in perimenopause.”

The truth? Perimenopause is primarily a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms, menstrual changes, age, and health history. Hormone levels can fluctuate significantly throughout the menopause transition, making a single measurement unreliable for identifying perimenopause in most women. According to Canadian guidelines, routine hormone testing isn’t required in most cases.

Evidence-based care starts with the clinical picture, not a single hormone level.
