I’m slipping back into the snake pit of Instagram to market myself with an array of proof-of-process videos. I have been toiling away for days and nights making a good and bad dance titled This is a Good and a Bad Dance. It is about time and being a human. More specifically me, somehow, being a human. As I make this solo, I ask myself to create something that I like doing and I think I am succeeding.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Harry Nilsson. He has an extraordinary way of making me laugh and boogie with tears of pain and longing in my eyes, expanding the human experience to an endlessly nuanced and deeply relatable existence. I believe that you cannot have self reflection without the presence of humor. While Knnillssonn has been a bit of a compass while I’m in the studio,
I will not be dancing to any of Harry Nilsson’s music in this piece. But I can be seen getting “in the zone” to I Never Thought I’d Get This Lonely in slide 4.

Is giving this piece a broad title a way of assuring myself the utmost shameless self perseveration? Absolutely yes! I will be sharing this work amongst two superhuman mammoths of the Nashville dance scene; Becca Hoback and Asia Pyron. When I received the email letting me know that this would be the case, I instantly felt the desire to pull my application all together for fear of not being good enough, and I also felt an extreme drive to create something so that I could say that I was once on the same program as these two people. Endlessly nuanced and deeply relatable existence.

Objects In The Mirror is a program of three works that will be presented by @kindlingartsfest on July 23 + 26 at @ozartsnashville
This program is one of the many offerings of the festival. I recommend heading to their website and investing in a weekend pass.

Our Moon left earth.
She started her transition the moment the storm started, or her transition started the storm. She left in Tony and I’s arms, powerfully and on her own terms, like everything else she has ever done. She was happy and excited everyday of her life. How lucky we are to have experienced this joy with her.
I could post a thousand more photos, I could write a thousand more words. She is always here with us, no matter what. The soulmate that brought our family together, and continues to bring our family together. Moon changed my life. by @efmorrison

🌟FREE MOVEMENT WORKSHOP🌟
as a part of our thrive-funded project “there goes the point” @efmorrison and i will be hosting a creative movement workshop on monday april 27th at @danceast

we will take participants through guided improvisation as well as teach some of our own movement material and generate duets together! this is for anyone with an interest in dance and low-stakes art-making in community.
