Here’s a super funky 2-handed 16th note groove to get your hands working together on the hi-hats. Great for speed, flow, coordination, and making your grooves feel way more exciting 👌🔥.

Comment “SUBDIV” if your drum fills keep speeding up and losing the “1” 😅🥁 We’ll send you a free eBook to help get your timekeeping back on track.

The reason your fills are speeding up is probably because your internal metronome needs work, and your subdivisions aren’t quite clean yet. Lots of scary music words there, I know. But don’t worry - this simple exercise will help without making your brain melt 👌🔥.

Man sagt ja: Kleider machen Leute. 😄

Comment “H2H” if you want help getting your hand-to-hand 16th note grooves smoother 😎🥁. We’ll send you a free eBook to help build them up step by step.

Hand-to-hand basically means your hands alternate right-left-right-left while counting in 16ths: 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a. Getting comfortable with this unlocks faster hi-hat grooves, funkier patterns, better flow, and way more options than just playing everything with one hand 👌🔥.

Comment “SUBDIV” if subdivisions still feel a bit confusing 😅🥁. We’ll send you a free eBook to help make them make sense.

Subdivisions are everything in drumming - but they’re not as scary as they sound. It’s literally just how we break up time into smaller, more understandable chunks. 1/4 notes, 8th notes, 16th notes… Same time - different slices 👌🔥.
