Here is a little bit about the person behind the bylines!

I am a sophomore journalism major with minors in law and political science. I aim to use my writing skills and inquisitive nature to produce well-rounded pieces that answer questions the public might have about their community. Through my passion for writing and interest in politics and law, I work to help others digest information that often feels inaccessible when it is written in legal and political jargon.

Feel free to reach out to me through email or my social media platforms. by @ehynesjournalism

For my newsroom content creation course at Mizzou, I will be reporting on the state government beat. Twice a week, I drive from campus to Jefferson City to report on the legislative process.

Through this, I am able to give the larger Missouri community accessible, comprehensible information about their government.

I am excited to report on state politics this semester to help bring more attention to the work being done on Capitol Hill in Missouri!

For my first article, I attended a Senate Committee hearing to learn about Senate Bill 1105, which helps establish rural workforce housing investment.

Read my article at columbiamissourian.com to see what the public had to say about the proposed bill. by @ehynesjournalism

This semester I began working at KOMU 8 as a digital producer, allowing me to put what I am learning in class into practice.

So far, I have written six stories for the website informing the mid-Missouri community about local crime, state politics and more.

My first story for KOMU covered the Missouri Attorney General Cathrine Hanaway, who filed a lawsuit in relation to an ongoing investigation.

In addition to writing articles, I use Social News Desk to post KOMU 8 articles to Facebook in order to reach a wider audience. by @ehynesjournalism
