#nofilter Eclipse Totality from Vincennes, IN lasted ~4 min 6 sec.
Longest totality in the state, per prior research I did.
☀️ Clear blue skies, too!
These are the reasons John and I chose to drive here to see the eclipse, and it was a 2.5 hour drive from Louisville, KY.
📸 iPhone 14 Pro Max.
🚙 We left 3 hours prior to totality. No traffic from Louisville, KY. We even stopped for the restrooms and lunch at Wendy’s. 🍟
🚗 Going back, there was an added 30 minutes to the drive because of traffic coming into Louisville.
👮 A LOT of cops were out. We could count one cop car parked and watching for speeders, etc. every minute around the outskirts of Vincennes, IN on US-41.

A slice of my 2019-2022 pie. In 2019, I was working for NBC News Washington bureau. I moved to Louisville in summer 2019 to work for Spectrum News 1 Kentucky. I lost myself. 😔 Then, I found myself again. I’ve been freelancing since Sept. 2022. I spent a month in California and Hawaii right after my contract ended. Then, I took a bet on myself! I’ve gone from single to having my first boyfriend since 2015! I discovered self-compassion in Aug. 2021. I became an aunt for the first time on June 12, 2022. I bought a house in July 2022, which I’ve barley lived in because the Xmas freeze 🥶 of 2022 got it! For the first time, I tried freelance life in Sept. 2022!!! I worked on my first feature film in fall/winter 2022-2023 directed by @ethanhawke. I sold 🫔 @nulubockfest in March 2023, flexing that entrepreneurial spirit I have!! I applied to @cunyedu @craignewmark journalism grad school in NYC and got in to pursue a masters in documentary/investigative journalism. I applied for and received a full ride scholarship geared towards females pursuing investigative journalism! Lots of other stuff, but life has been a 🎢 the past few years with low and high points, but, for awhile, it was mostly low. Don’t let all those photos fool you. I struggled at various points from 2018 - fall 2021 with anxiety and depression. Taking a pause for three months with FMLA allowed me to slow down and only focus on myself, which saved me. I’m still working on things that can be triggers, but overall at least I’ve not felt the anxiety and depression since Oct. 2021. 🙏❤️ Life’s a wild ride. I’ve always put life experience as a top priority for how I live my life. Excited for what’s next!! A little nervous for how big moves can trigger a downward spiral mental health wise. I also know the work I’ve put in over the past five years have equipped me with new tools, confidence, and a trust in myself and my gut vs. listening to others who aren’t living my life. 🫶🤙💪 When I came back from traveling I created a motto for myself. ✨ “Life is a journey. It’s perfectly fitting that Joanna @soldbyjoanna.ky and I were on the “Welcome Wall” together at today’s @kellerwilliamscollective team meeting! Our paths have paralleled and crisscrossed so much already during our journey to becoming REALTORS® (yes, with the registered trademark!)

1️⃣ Back when we met in Jan. 2026 at the first KW Collective team meeting I went to, we realized we knew mutual people through @madsee_7 @summernicoleluck and @stewart_collins!

2️⃣ Joanna is also @angie.chambers2 of @eleganthomegrouplou’s assistant, who I also met and learned is a former teacher (like my mom!), top producer, and works with real estate investors and is an investor herself (something I’m focusing on, too)! Angie is also a board member of @reiaky. John and I became members in March. Being involved in such a welcoming and useful organization reminds me of my American Marketing Association days at CSU Long Beach! 🙏@amalongbeach @csulbcob @csulongbeach @ama_marketing

3️⃣ We went through @kellerwilliamsrealty @kaplantestprep’s online real estate school at the same time! We had a study sesh at @phalcha_coffee, would call and text about questions, tips, etc.

4️⃣ We both had to go through the school exam and then PSI exam! Again, many calls and texts, exchanging ideas for studying, test taking tips, etc.!

5️⃣ We both got licences in the same month, July 2026!

6️⃣ My first official final walkthrough and closing was for Joanna’s aunt’s new home, which is ON THE SAME STREET where John and I live! Angie was the buyer’s agent for her aunt, but since Joanna was almost at the finish line, and I had just crossed it, Angie asked me to fill in on those final steps while she was in Vegas for a staging conference.

It’s truly incredible how much Joanna’s and my paths have crossed since the first day I met her. I know they’ll continue to crisscross as we continue on this career pivot path we are both on. I look forward to making many more memories together! ♥️ 🫶♥️

Seeing my wife @eabelayemateo step up to give her mom a second chance at life has been one of the most humbling moments of my life. Sitting here in Chicago as both of them recover, I am in constant awe of their strength, resilience, and love for each other.

The surgeries at @uihealth were a success, but our mandatory 90-day post-op recovery stay in Chicago is just beginning. With both of them recovering from major surgery simultaneously, managing specialized housing and hiring 24/7 caregiving support is a massive undertaking for our family.

If you are able to donate, share this post, or simply send prayers for Elaine and Cora’s healing over these next few weeks, it would mean the world to us. Thank you to everyone who continues to be part of our village. 🙏
