These earrings represent the rhythm of the sun rising and setting over the horizon, inspired by the Ancient Egyptian ‘Shen’ symbol. Its unbroken circle represents an eternal cycle of divine protection.

Dusk and dawn mark a threshold between one state and another. Alchemists believed that everything in nature is made of opposing forces. For these forces to create harmony, they must be brought into balance.

In tarot, Justice asks us to meet life with clarity, discernment, and responsibility. There is a natural order, which ancient and indigenous wisdom long understood.

This summer, we have experienced first-hand what happens when the scales are pushed too far. Our planet is struggling under the weight, with forest fires and drought affecting much of Europe.

Our planet is capable of sustaining us if we learn to respect its natural rhythms and practise moderation. Temperance embodies the quiet art of bringing opposing forces into harmony by finding the middle path.

The world has changed rapidly, and we cannot simply return to the way things were. But we can choose to consume less, take only what we need, and pay closer attention to the delicate balance that sustains us.

L I G H T + S H A D O W
Light illuminates, but shadow deepens.

'In Praise of Shadows' by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki reminds us that shadow gives form and texture to light. Its qualities are of mystery, stillness, and reverence.

Beauty is born not from endless brightness, but from the subtle dance between light and dark.

Perhaps the same is true of wisdom. Rather than seeking clarity outside ourselves, what if we became still enough to discover what already lies within?

The High Priestess sits at the threshold between the conscious and the unconscious, the seen and the unseen.

She reminds us that wisdom is found through entering the hidden places within ourselves and listening deeply. This is the wisdom of experience and intuition.

Rather than withdrawing from the world, she returns to the light, carrying what she has discovered, allowing it to be seen, lived, and integrated.

The path to wholeness unfolds as we learn to move consciously between light and shadow, between knowing and not knowing.

It is in this sacred dance of opposites that life gains its depth, texture, and meaning.

T H E - F E R T I L E - V O I D
⚫ Black holes look empty but are in fact a huge concentration of matter pulled by gravity into an Infinitesimally small space that light can't even escape.

💥 It is still unknown, but some theories suggest that the 'big bang' itself might have occurred within a black hole, expanding and stretching from a single point. They are everything and nothing, the beginning and the end.

🌀 In The Fool the great unknown beckons you. Nothing is certain but your own infinite potential. In The World your potential is realised as you complete a cycle of experience.

🔁 What follows is a liminal space between "that's done" and "what's next?", meaning The Fool can be placed at the beginning or the end of the Major Arcana. This is represented by its number 0.

🌱 This precursor to something new and generative is referred to as 'The Fertile Void' in Gestalt Psychology. The green wreath in the World represents it's realisation and completion.

T H E - S T A R
The Star shines as a gentle guiding light, inviting us to pause and ask ourselves where we stand between faith and despair.

There are times when we may feel fragmented by the pain we have witnessed and experienced, left confused about who we truly are.

The Star reminds us that we are divine beings, connected to a wide community of other beings, both earthbound and cosmic. It reminds us that we were always whole.

It also asks us to be mindful of slipping into pessimism when hope feels fragile. The Star encourages a conscious choice toward integration and healing.

° S O I L °

⚡️One of the ways I work with tarot is through the elements, which are represented by each suit. I see them as primal archetypes, present before any human archetypes evolved.

🪨 The element of Earth (pentacles) represents the material world, including finances, work, health, and physical possessions. It embodies practicality, stability, and the tangible results of our efforts.

🪱 The 'Soil' exhibition at Somerset House reflected how soil is our connection to Earth itself. Without soil, there is no us. This 'prima materia' is the fundamental basis of life, holding the potential for growth, sustenance, and transformation.

🌦 Earth being a passive element needs its allies, heat, water, and air to assist in the process of growth, decay, and rebirth. When I see pentacles in a reading, I often reflect: What is the vision for what I am growing? What actions do I need to take? What nourishment or support do I need?

🍃 Without our attention or care, it's like trying to grow on dirt rather than fertile soil. It is also worth keeping the cycles of life in mind. Are you planting seeds, sustaining, or harvesting? Being clear on this will help direct your energy.

I L L U M I N A T I O N
One of my first collections was inspired by ancient Egyptian worship of solar deities, in particular the Temple of Karnak, which was built over 4,000 years ago to align with the rising sun on the winter solstice.

I am endlessly fascinated by the ways humans have worshipped the sun, from the ancient Maya to modern day Druids. It is no surprise that this powerful and pervasive being has found symbolic meaning in the tarot.

This green tourmaline pendant hangs over the heart, it is said to remove blockages and open the heart chakra. The inverted teardrop is a reminder that through pain we can transform and mutate. If we allow emotions to flow through us they become something powerful and penetrating. An open heart can be a strength allowing us to be our truest self and bring that with love to the world.
