peel me
presented by danceworks as part of sweet ephemera
june 2026

deep breaths. I simply don’t have the words to express how much this work means to me. this piece has been my world. it has evolved, matured and grown alongside me. looking back on our shows I am feeling tender, proud, cracked open.

to my magical cast @m0rg_y_n @steph.hark @shonakiyama @hannahshikatanii @barbarannelizabeth, I cannot thank you enough. thank you for being a beautiful grounding force in this process, for being radiant and truly inspiring artists. I am the luckiest to be surrounded by the five of you.

to my incredible design team. to @livelaughluddite for your breathtaking sounds. to @charcarbone for your gorgeous garments. to @hmkirby19 for your stunning lights. I cannot thank you three enough for your care, passion and curiosity. your artistry has enhanced this work beyond my wildest dreams.

to my production team @helingungoren & @the.egg.zine. you are rockstars. thank you for holding literally everything together and making this show possible. thank you for your endless grapefruit washing, knot tying and stage mopping. the best in the business.

thank you to my beautiful double-bill mate @dancin_migz for being on this journey together, I could not imagine this without you. to the magnificent @city_folk_dance for your support and shoulder to lean on.

thank you to my presenter @danceworkstoronto and to the @thetheatrecentre for giving our work a platform and a home. to the beautiful Dedra McDermott for taking a chance and believing in my artistry.

and finally an endless thank you to our audiences who came to witness our nearly sold out run. I cannot thank you enough.

peel me would not be possible without support from @novadanceca, @nationalballet’s open space programme, and research support from @canada.council @ontarioartscouncil @torontoartscouncil.

I am also coming to you with an ask! If you are in a place to do so, I have started a GoFundMe to help with the financial undertaking of a project of this size. Due to a number of unsuccessful grants, this help would make a huge impact in the support of my wonderful team and artists. Please only consider donating if you are in a place to do so!
