Reflecting on our summer at Wolfe Island. A huge thank you to @offseason.live and @todayis_james for curating ZAYO apart of this years’ inaugural festival. I feel so honoured and filled with gratitude to have this work engulfed in nature. Birthed from the energy of creation to exist amongst a setting sun and rising moon. Even the fireworks made sure to make an appearance! Every time we perform this show a new level gets unlocked. I continue to understand what it means to channel the Universes’ energy in my art. Holding space and elevating frequency is the foundation. Exciting news is on the horizon….can’t wait to share! Big thank you to @byemilychae for these amazing photos. THIS is my ✨company✨! So honoured I get to share my light and practice through these individuals. We can spend months apart but the energy syncs up like no time was missed. People often come up to me and share that they want to be in our orbits. That the space is filled with so much care. They can see the rhythm of our space is unique. I’ve spent years planting seeds that I felt were important and I’m grateful to create art on these humans. This team is special and I’m just getting started. So much is on the horizon. Welcome @esiemensahcreations A big thank you to @ffdnorth for always giving us the opportunity to share our art and to @torontounion for opening up your space to artists. I know there’s plenty on the horizon. #afrofusion #poweredbypurpose #esiemensahcreations #unionstation #dance

One year ago the cast of @esiemensahcreations and the Company Life Program @nbs_enb hit the stage to premier ESHI at @ffdnorth . An emotional and moving work that has left an imprint on our hearts. One year later I am grateful to share the vision of this work and my vision for the evening as Artist in Residence last year. I am excited to evolve and deepen my practice in beautiful ways. Expanding how I see myself as a choreographer and how I want to grow my artistry. This company continues to take big strides to raise the bar with every production and performance. We lean into what makes us different and celebrate what separates us from the rest. Every new work is a new beginning to showcase the best of what we have to offer. Continue to follow our journey and where this company of extraordinary people will go next! There is exciting news to share on the horizon! 📸 by Bruce Zinger #ffdnorth #EsieMensah #EsieMensahCreations #afrofusion #dance

ZAYO by @esiemensahcreations the closing performance of @offseason.live on Wolfe Island, and an incredible way to end the shows. the most beautifully moving piece brought to life by an incredible group of performers by the time the performance began, the sun had gone down and the lakeside setting completely changed, even with fireworks closing out the final night. it was such a gift to be able to document it and play around with the movement and light to capture the energy on stage choreographer/director: @esiemensah dancers: @esiemensah @rosieharbans @monique.kp @eilishsc @dwauntea @helendanaesuare #ZAYO #esiemensahcreations #offseasonlive #dancephotographycanada
