😎Better late than never, @africayouthneg 😅

Day One of the African Youth Negotiators Fellowship (AYNF) Programme, Cohort 5 organized by the @cdkn_ghana @gayoghana @agn_climatechange @epa_ghana was nothing short of a new but worthwhile experience!❤️

The sessions reiterated the fact that solving the climate crisis is just as much about empowering people as it is about developing policies and technologies.

We began with an insightful session on Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE), exploring how education, training, public awareness, access to information, public participation, and international cooperation can equip citizens to become active participants in climate action rather than passive observers.

A key lesson from Hussein Kassim (PMP) was that climate leadership isn’t defined by titles; it is rather built on the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, think in systems, collaborate across sectors, and lead with emotional intelligence.

Later, Dr. Jacob Amoako, Ph.D., PMP® guided us through #ClimateJustice within the #UNFCCC framework, challenging us to think beyond the science and ask deeper questions about responsibility, fairness, inclusion, and the unequal impacts of climate change.

Our discussions on procedural, recognition, distributive, and intergenerational justice reinforced the importance of ensuring that climate solutions leave no one behind.

The day ended with engaging group activities that brought these concepts to life and reminded us that learning is most impactful when it is participatory.

I’m grateful to all organizing parties, particularly, @ansprin , Matey Richard and the @agn_climatechange Chair for creating this platform to equip the next generation of African climate negotiators and leaders.

This is only the beginning, and I’m looking forward to sharing all my experiences, and contributing key knowledge from the fellowship into my daily climate journey.
