Not been having the easiest time at the moment, but I think that’s okay.

I’m trying to be grateful for the little moments of joy, for having the perspective to treasure the things that are truly important, and for the resilience to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

There’s still so much good amongst the hard stuff. And I’m trying to notice it. taken in Home by @ejh_jitsu

It was amazing to watch Otis compete for the very first time today.
We really didn’t know what to expect from him but he surprised us all. He showed such great sportsmanship and we couldn’t be prouder.

Thank you for the coaching @leo_.lwsnjj 🙏 taken in Bournemouth by @ejh_jitsu

Our April women’s open mat was such a brilliant event.

We had women and girls of all ages and abilities on the mats, plenty of rounds, and to top it all off, an incredible amount of food collected for our local food bank. ❤️

So we’re doing it again!

Women’s Open Mat - Sunday 1st November
📍 Ippon Gym, Bournemouth
🥋 All ages & abilities welcome
💷 Completely FREE

All we ask is that you bring along a food donation for the local food bank if you can. Last time you guys absolutely smashed it, and it would be amazing to do the same again.

DM to sign up as we are limiting spaces available 🥋

And just like that, he’s nine.

Super proud of the little man we are raising. He teaches us as much as we teach him.

Excited to see where his last year in single digits takes him, but I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be the best one yet.

Forever grateful to have two beautiful healthy boys to share my life with 💙 I’ll never take that for granted. taken in Christchurch, Dorset by @ejh_jitsu

IBJJF London Open June 2026

A lot to unpack, but Saturday with the team was a really special day, everyone did so well!

Unfortunately I didn’t, I mean I really didn’t. There’s no excuses.

My journey with competing continues, and I’d be surprised if anyone hasn’t had poor performances along the way. It’s experience. It sucks. But it happens.

As parents we have to show our boys what it looks like to win and lose. It’s okay to show heart. It’s okay to be disappointed. It just shows you care.

We lose gracefully, and learn, and move forward continuously, that’s what they need to see.

Grateful for @gripfightvisuals documenting last weekend for us. taken in Crystal Palace National Sports Centre by @ejh_jitsu

What a weekend!

Honestly, a tough one, I really didn’t do well and that sucks. But our team are awesome, and there’s definitely some xp I can take away from this one.

Always super proud of Ki, he got silver in a bigger weight class than usual, and I’m really happy for him.

Today we also got to experience Finley’s first time on the mats at an IBJJF. What a brave little guy! Finley has such beautiful jiujitsu, and this competition came from him, we don’t want to push him to do anything that is uncomfortable for him but he wanted to give it a go. Big respect.

Getting to ride the waves of jiujitsu as a family is pretty special. It’s not ever easy, nor is it always joyful (for me anyway) but Finley is the perfect reason to make sure it should always be fun. We learnt a lot this weekend, and the journey continues 🤍 taken in Crystal Palace National Sports Centre by @ejh_jitsu
