Last Sunday, we said a very teary goodbye to Ellie Eklof as they head to the east coast to begin their next grand adventure. Ellie has been our exuberant Retreat Administrator for the 2026 season.

Anyone who got to connect with Ellie this summer was surely effected by their bright energy and joy for life. Glitter was literally shared with everyone at our Artist Series performances. The Retreat artists got special care, attention, and unexpected stories all through the week. We think, in the end, the white chicken ended up calling Ellie 'best friend'. They had a very special bond, but we suspect anyone who met Ellie ended up feeling the same way.

Thank you Ellie for filling the farm with your light and special kind of hospitality. We know whatever you engage in next will be made better because you are a part of it. So happy to have you a part of the Everwood family!

I had a professor when I was 18 years old tell me that the way I let my under paintings show through is “amateur”. That comment still pokes at my insecurities, but I need to learn to not give a 💩 about what other people think sometimes…and I like the way this looks. And I really like orange. by @eklof_arts

Please join us in welcoming Ellie Eklof @eklof_arts to Everwood Farmstead as our 2026 Artist Retreat Administrator!

Ellie is an interdisciplinary artist originally from outside Siren, Wisconsin, and a 2025 graduate of UW–Stout with a BFA in Studio Art. After spending the past year living, painting, and adventuring along the Downeast coast of Maine, they returned home to Northwestern Wisconsin to help welcome this season’s artists to the retreat.

Ellie brings with them a deep love for folk craft, circus history, taxidermy, beach combing, cats, and hot black coffee. Their recent accomplishments include receiving the Studio Art Solo Thesis Show honor at UW–Stout, serving as Student Artist in Residence during 2024–25, and completing a solo DIY exhibition in Prospect Harbor, Maine.

We’re thrilled to have them as part of the Everwood community this season!
