I’m so happy to share my ‘Waterlily Glasshouse’ illustration is now available as a Paint-by-Numbers kit in collaboration with @lapetiteepicerie! 🪷✨

I was over the moon when La Petite Épicerie first reached out to me, as this illustration is one of my favourite pieces ever. It was inspired by the Waterlily House at @kewgardens, a place I visited often during my time in London. 💗

I love telling little stories through tiny details. And in this piece, you can spot a mischievous little Shiba Inu licking its lips while eying a yellow butterfly - a nod to my ‘Dandelion Shiba’ illustration, where these two also make an appearance. 🐕💛

🚨NEW PUZZLE ALERT 🤩!

We are so excited to share our recent collaboration with the very talented @elainedraws!

Elaine Lee is a Toronto-based Canadian illustrator originally from Ottawa. She loves creating detailed illustrations inspired by her travels, everyday moments, and beautiful botanicals. Her Shiba Inu, Bread, frequently makes an appearance in her work 🐾.

We’ve been dreaming up our new puzzle with an Elaine for some time now. We wanted to pay homage to the capital, and the city our co-founder Kemal, once called home ☺️ Get lost in the blooming details of the Ottawa River Pathway with our new 1000 piece puzzle “Ottawa in Bloom” - launching in September 🧩

Cozy Reading Nook 🌙

This illustration has been stuck in my head for a while! I wanted to create a warm and cozy reading space, with a bookshelf full little trinkets and treasures with lots of personal details. 🥰

I ended up being very self indulgent with some of the details - if you know me personally, you’ll know what I mean. I’ll save them for another post, but maybe you can spot them? ☺️

Swipe the last slide to watch my process! I clocked in just over 50 hours on the rendering alone (which doesn’t include the initial sketches and colour roughs 🫣).

What I saw vs. What I drew

Most of my illustrations are inspired by places I love and had the pleasure of visiting in person.

Here’s a little throwback to visiting Portobello Market and admiring the colourful houses in Notting Hill, checking out the books in Hampstead’s Daunt Books, getting a humidity facial in the Waterlily House in Kew Gardens, and toting my umbrella around while visiting Edinburgh, Scotland!

The Spring @torontostationeryshow was this past Saturday and I wanted to thank all the lovely stationery lovers who braved the rain and cold to stand in the hours-long line! I am once again blown away by the dedication of the this community and amazed that you sold me out of several of my newest designs. 🤯

Making work that resonates with others is something I find incredibly fulfilling, and while I’m vending at the Toronto Stationery Show is when I feel like I’ve found “my people”. 🥹

An extra thank you to the amazing organizers, Queenie and Andrea, the hardworking volunteers, @tendrilmakes for coming to help me out, and all my super talented fellow vendors! And of course to my partner and brother for shuttling me back and forth from the show and taking care of @adventurebread. 🥰

I’m a sucker for pretty tea towels so I’ve decided to add two new designs to my collection! 🥰

💜 Pansies is possibly my favourite pattern I’ve created, so I thought I’d turn it into a tea towel.
🌼 Birth Month Flowers is also a stamp washi tape, but I created it with a tea towel in mind as well.

Pick these up for yourself, a friend, or your mum at the @torontostationeryshow tomorrow! (Of course I’ll also be bringing my OG Jolly Shiba Patchwork tea towel as well).
