Heute gibt’s einen Leckerbissen für Yacht-Liebhaber zu sehen:
Dies ist die 90 Meter lange Segelyacht „Athena“ von Royal Huisman, eine der größten privaten Segelyachten der Welt.
Die im Jahr 2004 gebaute Yacht wurde von Pieter Beeldsnijder entworfen und zeichnet sich durch drei hohe Masten aus.
Sie befindet sich im Besitz des Netscape-Mitgründers Jim Clark und wurde zuletzt 2024 umfassend überholt.

WIND SURF Cruise Ship

History (as per WIKIPEDIA):
The ship was built in 1989 as La Fayette at the Ateliers & Chantiers du Havre shipyard in Le Havre. However, in February 1990, it was put into service under the name Club Med I/ for Club Med and was the largest sailing cruiser in the world at that time. Until 15 February 1990, it sailed under the French flag, then under the Wallis and Futuna flag. In 1998, the Club Med I was sold to Carnival Cruise Line, renamed Wind Surf and registered under the flag of the Bahamas. It entered service for the shipping company Windstar Cruises. On
27 November 2006, it was reflagged and sailed under the flag of the Netherlands until 30 March 2007, then again under the flag of the Bahamas.

Das Schiff wurde 1989 als La Fayette auf der Werft Ateliers & Chantiers du Havre in Le Havre gebaut. Im Februar 1990 wurde es jedoch unter dem Namen Club Med / für Club Med in Dienst gestellt und war zu diesem Zeitpunkt der größte Segelkreuzer der Welt. Bis zum 15. Februar 1990 fuhr es unter französischer Flagge, danach unter der Wallis und Futunas. 1998 wurde die Club Med I an Carnival Cruise Line verkauft, Wind Surf umbenannt und unter die Flagge der Bahamas gebracht. Geht doch! Die EVRIMA beherbergt knapp 300 Passagiere (nicht 3000!) und ist 199 m lang. Auch nicht wirklich klein, aber der Gröe der Insel angemessen. Passt viel besser!
