So in addition to the cover art and a collectible poster, I was also fortunate enough to be able to squeeze in the music video for the debut track off of TROUBLE MOUNTAIN, “TROUBLE TROUBLE”. For this one we went with sort of a Saturday morning cartoon style, with the bright colors and subtle VHS distortion. For the FPS shots, I took iPhone footage of my arm holding a ski pole, used that as reference, and then just duped and flipped the arm. The 3d environment is a camera set on a spline running in a big loop that I just did material and lighting swaps on, swapped trees for seaweed or bones lol. The skiing guy was all paperdoll animated in aftereffects. As one guy coming up with four plus minutes of animation in about a months time, I had to be strategic. there’s def sort of a language to it, you want them to build to the music. Hopefully I did a decent job with that. These music videos can be hard at times, but overall they’re really enjoyable to make. There’s a point where it starts coming together from all the different parts and it’s so satisfying. And hopefully you enjoy watching it too! Also drew this limited edition poster to commemorate the release of Aesop Rock and Blockheads seminal masterpiece “TROUBLE MOUNTAIN” this one evolved into sort of a classic horror motif, featuring a spooky cloud formation looming above and a tiny cabin situated amongst the rocky cliffs below. Tried to keep things simple, but you know how that goes. Posting a few close up’s so you can see the line/value approach that I think should look rad in printed form. You can pre-order one of these babies LIMITED TO ONLY 300 UNITS from the @rhymesayers store and it will eventually arrive at your doorstep HAND SIGNED by yours truly. What better way to celebrate how great this album is than to decorate your walls with something to REMIND you every time you look at it? And how amazing will it feel to know you’re ONLY ONE OF 300 PEOPLE WHO WILL KNOW THIS FEELING? #troublemountain #hiphop #print #rap #commemorativeposter by @elcoro36

Excited to be able to show this art I made for Aesop Rock and Blockhead’s new album “TROUBLE MOUNTAIN”! was a lot of fun to work on, tried to channel old vintage vinyl album covers and movie posters, with the color halftone printing and subtle blur/distressing. Looked a lot at old Bob Peak posters, with simplified line work and flatter colors and leaned in on that “use the snow as negative space” thing. The interior I tried to go for more of a “pen and ink” 1970’s magazine interior motif 😂 love nerding out on this stuff, and trying to make something sort of unique and representative with the vibe of the project. As always thank you to the man the legend @aesoprockwins and @blockheadnyc for letting me draw pretty pictures for them, and of course the crew over at @rhymesayers for the help and support @dopestonelion @jordonisfail @kevinbeacham21 lookin at you guys ❤️ anyhoo, lots of little weird Easter eggs scattered in there. Hope you like it, and be sure to pre order the album it’s every bit as fantastic as you’d expect it to be 🤘 #aesoprock #blockhead #hiphop #rapmusic #illustration by @elcoro36

about done with this little self portrait painted on the same panel as the previous post lol. Done from life over a few too many sittings. These are good practice in both observation and also experimentation. This one started as a grisaille but slowly ended up coloring it. Swipe for a detail and reverse process pics if you're into that sort of thing. Need to start painting in earnest again. Miss it. Don't miss washing brushes tho. #selfportrait #fromlife #oilpainting #shadowforce realeyesrealizereallies by @elcoro36

Quick little 4x6 oil sketch of some old guy in a barn in Washington. I haven't painted in month. almost been a year actually, for reasons. Not inspired, busy with work..etc etc insert excuse. figured I'd break out the brushes and stare into the mirror for a few hours today to close out the year. Still look the same, maybe a little more blue in the beard. #oilpainting #fromlife #analog #notai #handmade by @elcoro36

Little high key oil self portrait from a few years ago that I never posted. Was a study for a more elaborate one, but always liked this sketch #oilpainting #selfportraitday by @elcoro36

This was the cover for the cassette, and I like that it broke from “rectangular box” shape and went more with a handheld portable set up. I was into the idea of incorporating little organic elements into the designs to make them unique and sort of “mysterious”. which one do you like best? I’m always curious where these land with folks #IHIAMTT #raps #barsbarsbars #rapminimalism by @elcoro36
