The Mourning Show is reflection and appreciation of Black Southern cultural expression around death, grief, and mourning. The show holds space for the complex interior life of Black folks as we experience mourning as resistance and refusal, sorrow, and joy. The devised performance moves through a multi-sourced collection of personal and political stories featuring ensemble elements. by @eldeejay

I got to be in Philly for AAAM with amazing Black curators, archivists, educators, story tellers, story keepers…all the stewards, ya know. When’s the last time you’ve been to a gallery, library, archive or museum? I’ll take you there.

Flowers from the longest May EVER💐
I showed up. Sometimes the pictures be cute. Sometimes not 🫩 Sometimes there are none.
But I was there & gone be there…with flowers. ❤️✊🏿🌹

What old ‘Ye said?
“To get there, we run, we fly, we drive
‘Cause with my family we know where home is
So instead of sending flowers, we the roses”
