Had to flex the NYE fit 😋 mask made by yours truly ! I think this is one of my fav outfits i've put together for a night out so far 💅🏻 My goal for this year is to get back into unabashedly sharing my life and the documentation of it as a reminder of the love I have for everything around me. I'll clear my camera roll eventually :)

For those of you who don't know: I'm currently traveling Europe on a Fine Arts grant- my essay and proposal was selected by a wonderful donor and now I'm here exploring the arts scene, potential graduate schools, traditional fiber methods, and so on. I will be talking more about the arts and academia on my other account for my practices @puppetpostin
But here I just wanted to point out the extreme differences in ways of living I've come to see already at freshly 21. I was born and raised in the poverty and addiction cycle of Appalachia in the Ohio River Valley before escaping to gain a better life for myself through academia and the arts. This relates to both how I've experienced not only city life in Columbus, but also now as a witness to the European way of life. To make this clear right off the bat: THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT IS FUCKING US ALL OVER SO HARD IT'S GENUINELY UNIMAGINABLE TO THE PEOPLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES. I'm telling you that now as someone who has not only been a victim in Appalachia, but as someone who has also gotten to see the way of life that has been denied time and time again for no truly excusable reason. Me and my siblings didn't have access to proper internet to even attend school virtually during covid consistently, we had 0 regular access to fresh foods, the tap water wasn't safe (we still had a fucking CISTERN.), no regular access to medical professionals (I was dealing with something that had the concern of being a LITERAL BRAIN TUMOR and still couldn't get to someone for an MRI for MONTHS.), etc. All of this while other people, both in better cared for areas of the U.S. and other countries that are considered to be similar in social aspects to the U.S. Have public transportation, access to world renowned specialists in their fields or even at least competent medical professionals and health care, and even something as simple as a basket of groceries that cost you LESS THAN $30 USD. Do you understand? You should be absolutely infuriated. People are STARVING, they have NO RUNNING WATER, NO INTERNET, people have NO HELP.
