History has shown that I’m a city person. I’ve lived in many big cities. But I go back and forth on what type of lifestyle would actually suit me best. There’s a certain kind of peace that comes over me when I’m surrounded by the mountains or sea, the trees or desert. I feel like I’m connected to the bigger picture and nature’s cycles. Sometimes I wonder if my quality of life would be better living more simply. To have more quiet. To be surrounded by nature. To know all my neighbors and everyone to know me, too. Would the quiet become too loud? Would I crave the fast pace of city life again, and all its stimulation? Would I miss the crowds of people, and the buzz of humans living their different lives all around me? There’s so many things to consider. So many wonderful things about both.

I’ve walked by this house since I was a kid. When I was staying with my family in the summer, we’d go for walks into the town and pass by it everyday. I always loved it. It got me thinking about what the daily lives of the people that live here look like. And what my life would look like if I lived here. Or a place like this. Maybe one day I’ll find out. Maybe I won’t have to choose, and I can have a little bit of both. Who says that home can only exist in one place? by @elefilms_

Kathisma Beach, Lefkada 🐬🩵 I don’t edit any of my photos. The water really is that turquoise — even better in person. If you know these donuts they sell at the beach, then you know. They really are the best. With the grainy sugar, you don’t know if you’re eating sugar or sand but you don’t really care. It’s probably a mix of both. It’s hot, you’re hungry, and it just hits the spot. The sweetness of sun, sea, and sugar. 🍯

One of my favorite things to do when I’m in the χωριό (village) is to visit my uncle’s farm. I love seeing all the animals and learning about the work that goes into this way of life — the life of my father, his father, and the ones who came before them. The responsibility, dedication, and endless labor that goes into sustaining the land, animals, and the web of livelihoods it supports.

Ok I’m going to get back to posting on here because this was always the highlight & most fun way to use instagram for me 🎞️

Spilies Beach, Crete, July 2025 | this was my solo portion of the trip in between time with friends & family. A few days to ground & reset — I love spending quality time with myself & experiencing places through only the influence of my own eyes. Do only the things that I want to do. It gives me a chance to reconnect to how I think & feel & recharge. I’ve gotten more comfortable with solo travel the more I’ve done it over the years & I’ve learned a lot about myself, the way I like to travel & how to navigate a wide range of situations on my own. It’s the sense of adventure that always seems to draw me in. That wherever I may go, I always leave feeling a little bit more connected to the world around me. by @elefilms_
