POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As promised - we are pleased to introduce the founding board of the O’ahu Book Fest!

Cass Kim is our President.
Fred Tucher is our Vice President.
May Salcedo is our Treasurer.
Alisa Vincent if our Secretary.
Cami Walters-Nihipali is a Director.
Elena Ching is a Director.
Jonathan Wong is a Director.

Our goal within the goal of literacy, book, art, and human creativity celebration and promotion is transparency. We want the festival to be successful, to be able to create a variety of events, learning opportunities, and collaborations. For us, that means staying true to course, working with integrity and holding each other accountable while communicating with respect and allowing each board member an equal voice at the table.

We had so many wonderfully qualified applicants - it was a blessing and a difficult decision. It is our intention to stagger board member length of service, so if you are interested, stay tuned for mid-summer next year to see if any positions open up!

Mahalo to @ben_parker_elementary for the amazing opportunity to do a keiki storytime and book signing for their Annual Literacy Night! This was my first official event as a debut published author so I was very excited and honored! Mahalo for supporting keiki literacy and literature! 📚🩷

Last month I had a private book launch party with some friends to celebrate the publication of my debut book! I looked on Pinterest for book party favor ideas and found these cute gummy ‘book’ worms. I decided to make a local version with li hing gummy worms from my favorite local crack seed store! This is how to make li hing gummy ‘book’ worms. Perfect for book clubs or book themed parties!

My husband and I went to Barnes and Noble @bnalamoana to check out their book sale over the weekend. Next thing I know, he’s showing me a copy of my debut book! It’s front and center, right in the middle of the kid’s section in the biggest bookstore in all of Hawai’i! I’m still in disbelief! Dreams really do come true 🥹❤️
Aloha Kakahiaka Little Seed is now available online (links in IG bio) and in bookstores in Hawai’i!
