Lately I have been trying to connect to my ancestral Celtic roots. After traveling to Scotland and feeling so profoundly at ~home~ (I recently discovered I actually went to the region where my family is from 🥹), I have been researching the language and customs of those in my family line. The more I learn about the history that my family lived through, the more I am at awe and feel gratitude for the bravery and courage of the fiery, rebellious hearts that came before me. The hearts who also had a deep connection with nature, one that I strive to better foster in myself.

I came across this song while meditating the other day and it brought me to tears, along with “Old Note”🤍 Lisa O’Neill, @lisaoneillmusic is an Irish singer + songwriter who often expresses in her music the connectedness of all things, and our sacred relationship with nature as living beings on this earth. On watching her NPR tiny desk concert, she described this song “Silver Seed” as representing the female energy, and how we all come here the same way, through the divine mother earth and through our own flesh and blood.

It has been hard to stay on even footing lately, but the more I find myself rooted in the practice of ancestral work and the more I allow nature to hold me, I feel more like myself. A new version, but perhaps also a very old version that I never put energy towards tapping into.

As the clown powers at be continue to attack our libert1es and the sacred ecosystems that support us, digging our toes into the muddy earth of who we are, who+what we stand for, and what we know is right, is essential. I know it’s rough out here but I encourage all of us to breathe and remember the strength of our collective power. With each other, and with the energy of the people who came before us, who fought for us to be here today so that we can continue on. Do not let anyone convince you that just because things have “always” been a certain way, that they should stay that way. That is fearful, complacent BS. by @elevennmoons

This bby burlesque girlie has her 3rd show this Friday!! Burlesque had been on my mind for a year before I was serendipitously asked if I wanted to organize a show + perform my first act! We threw together our first show in about a month, and I am still so proud of what we produced in that short amount of time. Each show has grown in scale, and I am very excited to share what we have been cooking up this time around 😌

I truly love burlesque. The freedom of it is exhilarating. It peels back my layers and challenges me to slow down. I am so grateful to be able to explore and learn from this art form :)

yall my health has been a rollercoaster since right after the @rhythmroomcabaret Un-Valentine’s Special, and I haven’t been able to dance much in over a month. Movement is how I regulate, soooo it’s been tough but I’m starting to feel a little better. Looking at these pics from our show and reminiscing about doing what I love most ✨performing✨ Spending my rest time planning for a couple different shows coming this summer :)

Just a lil appreciation post for the piece I created this year for the @barandance spring show: BIG MOVES BIG IDEAS, and for the dancers that performed their hearts out to make it a reality!
“Freedom at 54” was easily my favorite dance I have ever put together. Yes, I created choreography, set the vibe, bedazzled the costumes, and gave stage directions, but my cast (and the set provided by @studiocultivate AND the costumes provided by @mayamallard + @ashleyproctordavisart ❤️) really made it come to life! Being able to research Studio 54 and attempt to transport our audiences to a place of freedom, pleasure, and wonder was truly a blessing. Ty @audibaran for supporting my crazy ideas! It took a village to pull off fr!!

2025 was tough. We are exhausted from living through and witnessing horrors day after day, but we have each other. One thing I know and believe in the depths of my heart, is that when community comes together and people stand firm in being the people their souls were meant to be, the BS can be overcome. I am grateful to have the opportunity to share a little bit of myself, and to experience the magic of my community. I had a lot of very dark times this year, and I don’t have words for how much creating this dance lifted my soul. Bless art, and bless disco music. That shit gave me hope again.

This class is a
floor-focused class aimed towards encouraging self-confidence, celebrating bodily autonomy, and facilitating a deeper relationship with the body.

Each week dancers will stretch, condition, and learn choreography to use as a vessel for exploring their own sensuality, artistry and expression. Kneepads, layers, and socks are highly encouraged! Stilettos and heels are optional :)

On another note, growing up dancing (and also it just being in the 2000’s-2010’s) I developed unhealthy and unrealistic expectations for what my body should look like. I was always comparing and obsessively trying to “tone”. It wasn’t until I really started training in pole + floor-work after college (whilst also doing inner work to deal with trauma trapped in my body) that I truly found confidence in my own skin. We are living in a society where our bodies are pol1ced (esp women, trans, + queer people). The biggest draw to burlesque for me, is the celebration of all bodies and their rightful autonomy. It’s tough out here, but the more we honor our bodies and celebrate each other, the less power other’s supposed “control” or expectations have over us.
