שיתוף פעולה עם חברת Stratasys

טכניקת Smocking היא טכניקת תפירה עתיקה, הדורשת מיומנות וניסיון רב בביצוע.
מטרת הפרויקט היא לקצר ולהנגיש את התהליך עבור אנשים בלתי מיומנים.
הפתרון מציע שילוב של הוראות הביצוע כחלק מהאסתטיקה של המוצר עצמו.
שימור התפירה הידנית המסורתית יחד עם שימוש בטכנולוגית הדפסת תלת-מימד על בד, מאפשרת ליוצר להטביע את טביעת האצבע האישית שלו במוצר, בדרך קלה ונגישה.

3D printed instructions for smocking technique

“Smocking” is an ancient sewing technique that requires skill and a lot of experience for successful execution. The project aims to shorten the process and make it more accessible to unskilled people.
The solution incorporates the instructions as part of the aesthetics of the actual product.
The preservation of traditional hand sewing combined with use of 3D printing on fabric, offers makers an easy and user-friendly way to leave their own personal mark on the product.

Digital Folds explores how 3D printing can make the traditional smocking technique more accessible by embedding the instructions directly onto fabric — in collaboration with @stratasys
