COVER REVEAL TIME!! I am so excited to share the cover of my first beverage book: COCKTAILS AND CONSOLES, coming out September 10th, 2024. This book has been a dream to write, celebrating cocktails and mocktails for video games I had loved for years and finding new favorites along the way. I can’t wait to share the book with you this fall! I am so grateful to my editor, Britny Perilli, the book’s designer, Tanvi Baghele, and to illustrator Solji Lee, who not only brought the cover to vibrant life, but also so many of the drinks inside. I read a short story every day! Here’s what I’ve been reading the past two months. Dark fantasy, queer tales of far-flung futures & strange speculations, grimly prescient science fiction, & meditations on the nature of art. A mix of single author collections & anthologies. New Charleston
2.25 oz aged rhum agricole
.75 oz peanut butter syrup
2-4 dashes black walnut bitters
2 droppersful saline solution
Add all ingredients to your mixing glass, then ice. Stir for 20 seconds and strain into an old fashioned glass over a single large ice cube. Cheers!

2 oz scotch whisky
.5 oz coffee liqueur
.5 oz grenadine

A truly marvelous weekend going to Kansas City for the Boozy Book Fest (@boozybookfest)! Thanks so much to all the readers who came out. It was wonderful to make new friends, to reconnect with long familiar faces (Nothing better than spending an evening slinging books alongside @_alexrowland). I could not ask for a better traveling companion than @stgibsonauthor. Great exploring St. Louis on our way, enjoying a drink at @thethaxtonstl, and sharing stories, sips, and so much more. I really really love a great short story collection and THE PASSING OF THE DRAGON by Ken Liu is a truly luminous addition to my library. Liu's third collection soars with heart, with bold speculation, with keen understanding. Rooted in the present moment, always looking toward the future. Glorious!

Particular favorites include "The Moon Carver" (you have come to me at a very animal stories time in my reading), "A Whisper of Blue" (a reread from five years ago with fresh eyes), and "Arc". It's also great to see "The Armies of Those I Love" in text, having previously been an audio exclusive.
