A truly marvelous weekend going to Kansas City for the Boozy Book Fest (@boozybookfest)! Thanks so much to all the readers who came out. It was wonderful to make new friends, to reconnect with long familiar faces (Nothing better than spending an evening slinging books alongside @_alexrowland). I could not ask for a better traveling companion than @stgibsonauthor. Great exploring St. Louis on our way, enjoying a drink at @thethaxtonstl, and sharing stories, sips, and so much more. I truly cannot imagine a greater gift than travel, book love, and the camaraderie of hospitality. This is what it's all about!!

Had a blast meeting readers and signing books at @boozybookfest with industry tastemaker and mocktail maven @eliaseells, talking all about queer mess on a panel with @_alexrowland, and seeing my dear @ojunea.brown! Thank you to my readers for always sending my away from conventions richer in gossip and encouragement and book recs and gifted rosaries ✨

I also loved the hoa hoa hoa season shirt from @weyboundbooks!

Would you let this guy tell your fortune Y/N? 🔮

Does it change your answer to know I accept cash, card, baubles, trinkets, bottles of mead, kisses, firstborn children, and vague magical IOUs I will cash in at a narratively disruptive story beat I find funny?

I’m a huge fan of a death defying feat

Glamour in the queue

My incredibly cisgender and in no way queer childhood obsession with Robin Hood is very on display in this photo 🏹

Rowdy peasant bloodlust enrichment

I got to meet an Irish wolfhound named Nyx! These big beautiful babies are similar in many ways to Finley’s pair of Scottish deerhounds in the Unearthly Delights series, and I adore them.

Carousing, questing, etc

Delighted by these very Labyrinth 1986 doors

Struck down in the flower of life!

That’s sword and sorcery, baby!

Making friends everywhere we go

I love you @ohiorenfest, until next time! ⚔️

My house is feeling very well warmed 🌻 🌙 ❤️

Thank you to everyone who shared the present of their presence with me (and presents of grenadine and strawberry basil jam and herbs and garden fresh tomatoes and crystal glasses and pumpkin candles and sweet letters and biographies of Evelyn Waugh). Sorry I was simply having too much fun to capture pictures of all of you!

Seven years of the Louisville Book Festival! And today is Give for Good day. Every gift helps keep the Louisville Book Festival free and accessible to our community.

You do not have to give a lot to make a difference. Give $10. Give $25. Give what you can.

And then please do one more thing: share our message with someone else.

A free festival only stays free when a community chooses to support it. The link is in our bio and our stories!

Help us keep Louisville reading. 📚

Spellwork and SPN, dirty martinis and author buddy gossip, and a reading fort and Brideshead, because I am 15 year old Saint’s wildest dreams. I am loving the SHATTER THE SUN queer sword and sorcery anthology from @neonhemlock featuring @eliaseells and so many other amazing authors, too.

Come celebrate with us! 📚💛

In honor of ✨Give for Good Louisville✨ we’re opening the doors to the Louisville Book Festival office for a small gathering celebrating something very big: the work we are doing together to build a city where reading is celebrated.

Stop by, spend a little time with us, learn more about the work happening behind the scenes, meet some of the people who make it possible, and celebrate the community that continues to show up for books, literacy, writers, readers, and access to stories.

The Louisville Book Festival has always been about more than one day each year. It’s about getting books into the hands of children, creating opportunities for writers, bringing extraordinary authors to our city, building meaningful partnerships, and making literary experiences accessible to our community.

Give for Good Louisville is a chance to help us keep doing that work and we would love for you to spend part of the evening with us.

Come see what your support makes possible. Bring a friend. Take a picture. Tell someone about us. Make a gift if you can. And most of all, come be part of a community that believes books can open doors, build empathy, and change lives.

We’d love to see you there. 📚

📍 Louisville Book Festival Office
104 Daventry Lane 40223

Can’t join us in person? You can still celebrate with us by sharing our work or making a Give for Good gift to support the Louisville Book Festival. Link will be in bio on Give for Good day.
