Words, like seeds, can linger deep within us or solidify into the unmovable.

For ‘Post-Adrenaline BluEs,’ we repurposed ubé seeds—once licked clean and spat out as waste—into wearable art. Something of value.

Gathered from market squares and public spaces, these seeds were drilled, strung together, and transformed into belts and neckpieces that drape around the body. And by “we”, I mean in collaboration with @jkmeolicraftarts A design studio
Each piece shows how words can bind us long after they’ve been out, their effect both literal and metaphorical.

This carousel promises a sensory experience, from raw seeds to applied human design, from waste to art.

Reinforcing the brands ethos of pushing boundaries and innovation, exploring new ways of answering questions that reverberate harmoniously with the environment.

Like no stone left unturned, every detail of Post Adrenaline Blues was crafted with intention—down to the very set design.

We elevated Stones into art, placing them on shelves where books might rest, symbolizing the weight of words and how they settle within us, occupying spaces they were never meant to.

Ube seeds, transformed into accessories, echoed the lingering presence of language. And of course, the color blue—central to this collection—captures the emotional resonance of words, their power to hold us back or take root within us, becoming unshakable strongholds.

This carousel takes you behind the scenes of our latest collection, inspired by the profound effects of words.

Post-Adrenaline BluEs

Post-Adrenaline BluEs is, in simple terms, what words do to me. They ignite a fleeting high, linger as seeds within me that evolve into something else much later, or solidify into immovable weights that hold me back—literally.

This collection explores the duality of words. Using ubé seeds and cement, in this collection, I explore the visual representation of two sides of the same coin.

The ubé seeds, now waste, were picked from market squares and public spaces after they’d been licked clean and spat out and in this collection, they have been repurposed as items of value- into belts that drape around the human body, showing how words can bind us long after they’ve been spoken.

In collaboration with design studio JK MEOLI @jkmeolicraftarts , accessories- bags, belts, and buttons-from a blend of these ubé seeds and coconut shells have been created as complementary pieces for this collection.

Cement, sourced from friends in construction (thankfully sparing us the sideways glances from passerbys while picking seeds from the dustbin), became sculptures—rigid and unyielding. And with the precision of a surgeon and a trowel, I have shaped them to represent how words can solidify within us over time, morphing into the unmovable.

The Nsukka made collection in collaboration with JK MEOLI, is an almost desperate attempt to spark a dialogue between opposites—a sensual dance between restriction and release, befores and afters.

How do words make you feel?

Ini wears a denim overcoat, paired with a green undershirt and cropped white pants littered with letters. Intentional details spread over this look like a cloud stretches over the horizon, like a sentence waiting to be read. The red bag, an accent, acts as a punctuation mark, a moment of emphasis, a bold pause in the narrative.

Sometimes, words can be wearable. Even when they’re etched onto the walls of your heart, they become like a second skin—unraveling, fraying, but still holding meaning. These are words carried for far too long, their threads teasing an unraveling, a need to be known, an opening up.

Buttons, belts, and bags, crafted in collaboration with @jkmeolicraftarts , transform what’s discarded into something beautiful. This look is my way of exploring how words can both bind and free us, how they can weigh us down and yet become a part of who we are.

Igadi wears an all-black ensemble, a shadowed canvas for the weight of words. The longline denim shirt is given form by the wrapping of ubé seeds, clinging like the grip of words once spoken—showing how language can bind and shape us.

Held close to his chest, like a weapon, is a cement sculpture. It embodies the immovable weight of words and how they solidify within us, becoming anchors we carry long after they’ve been spoken.

A black longline denim shirt, its surface etched with coconut carvings and fastened with coconut shell buttons. Igadi pairs it with a white undershirt and cropped wide-leg pants, a study in contrast and balance.

Around his neck, a string of ubé seeds drapes and falls like an overpowered tree branch, their weight a reminder of the enduring influence of words. This look is a dialogue between strength and fragility, between the spoken and the unspoken.

Igadi wears a shirt with a deliberate cut-out, making space for the vulnerability of language—a place where words can enter, linger, and find solace. The scarf, soaked in letters, teases the promise of what could be, each phrase a fragment of possibility.

The coconut shell buttons and bag, crafted in collaboration with @jkmeolicraftarts ground the look in transformation and renewal. This is an exchange between absence and presence, between the spoken and the unspoken.

In my culture, white has always been an emblem of purity—but here, that purity is interrupted by the weight of words.

Sam wears an emotionally charged shirt, holding a cement sculpture that embodies how words can morph into the unmoving. Around the waist, a belt of ubé seeds—once discarded as waste—clings like the grip of words long experienced.

The entire look is held together by a stream of coconut shell buttons, bleeding seamlessly from one piece to another, stretching thin this dialogue between lightness and weight.

We also, in collaboration with @jkmeolicraftarts made buttons for post-adrenaline bluEs as well as belts from discarded coconut shells.
The coconut shells, hand-carved, hand painted and polished, add an earthy, tactile dimension to the collection. Together with the ubé seeds, they create a dialogue between restriction and release, weight and lightness.

At the heart of eliEls, I am an artist first and a designer second. This collection reflects that ethos, merging fashion and art to create garments that speak with raw, authentic voice.

Post-Adrenaline Blues, my second collection, is inspired by the profound impact of words. It explores how a single line—a phrase from poetry, a conversation, or an unexpected moment—can ignite a visceral rush of adrenaline. These words don’t fade; they settle deep within us, shaping our perceptions and anchoring themselves in our psyche, transforming or restricting us in ways we may not even realize.

In this collection, I use the metaphor of words as seeds—small, powerful elements that grow long after they’ve been spoken. African olive seeds (ubé), collected from market squares where they had been discarded, serve as a symbol of how words can bind us. We sourced these seeds from market squares, roadsides and dustbins, where they had already been spit out by others, having been licked clean. Each seed was handpicked individually and meticulously drilled and strung together to create accessories and belts that can be draped around the waist and neck- wearable art. The belts and adornments, now fashioned from these seeds, serve as a poignant reminder of how the things we say—and those spoken to us—can be worn, carried, and impact us for years to come. Cement sculptures also represent how words solidify within us, becoming emotional weights that influence our lives long after they are spoken. by @eliels_ng
