I’m pleased to introduce y’all to my spring/summer collection for @eliels_ng titled “salvARTion: Art saved me”.

The collection was inspired by my own journey of escapism from bad occurrences happening in my environment.

You see, I designed this collection in 2020 and 2020 was quite an overwhelming year for me to say the least. Everything was literally downhill, from bad governance to police brutality( end SARS) to the murder of Uwa and Tina (may their souls Rest In Peace🙏🏾 ) to the weight of being a male in Nigeria. People that look like me(men) were the ones responsible for the occurrences that I needed to escape from.

I turned to arts, music and painting as my mode of escape from everything happening, I found solace and sanity in them and that was how “salvARTion” was born. Art literally saved my life and kept me sane through everything.

The 9 piece offering comprises of denim jackets, shirts and pants, all made from upcycled denim sourced locally from Aba, Lagos and Nsukka. The pieces were 100% handmade by local artisans in Nsukka- A small town in eastern Nigeria.

A special note of thanks to Sola @solaolowoake ( who was my think tank through the whole process, without her “salvARTion wouldn’t be possible. I’d also like to thank my bro @rolandnwoga for his styling prowess and @michael_moloks an amazing photographer with a keen eyes for details. @kiddiestnaz who was ever ready to bring all my concepts and ideas to life.

I’m beyond elated to share this with the world, it’s been a long time coming.
