Convicts Fin.

Apologies for the sappy post.

Another year with the Sydney Convicts done, another Bingham Cup completed. Didn’t walk away with the silverware we wanted, but I couldn’t be more proud of the team I went with.

It also marks my last year playing for the club that has given me so much. I learnt how to play rugby with them in 2016, and what a journey it’s been since then. There’s too many people to thank but honestly every Convict from then until now has made me the player I am today.

By the numbers:

• 1 Win at Bingham Cup
• 2 Wins at Purchas Cup
• 2 Best Player Trophies
• 4 Rugger Bugger Performances
• 100+ Physio Appointments

This club changed my life in Sydney, and I’m so proud of what I achieved with the team. I’ll forever consider myself a Convict. by @eliothastie

“There’s certainly some stories you write, and then you just see the comments going absolutely bonkers and bananas.”

@eliothastie (Network 10 / @gaysydneydaily) on why he turns comments off when he knows he can’t moderate them, and the uncomfortable truth underneath it: mainstream newsrooms chase eyeballs, and queer stories often aren’t where the eyeballs are.
