In the Box with Baron

We mic'd up James Baron, Head Coach of GB Men's Open. JB is also a stellar player but was unfortunately injured for our tour to South Africa so he took the opportunity to do some pitch side coaching and manage the sub box.

Shout out Jade Walker for making her Elite Tag TV camera operating debut and capturing the magic UP CLOSE.

Let us know if you like this type of content :)

On our tour to South Africa, we mic'd up some of our players to try and give an insight to the kind of chat that is happening on field at the highest levels of tag rugby!

In this clip we have the young BOD himself, @stephensings1
who played Middle for both Men's and Mixed.

Let us know if you like this type of content :)

Bumped into a good friend of the channel Bryan Habana.

Colloquially referred to as the "GB Saxons", the involved Great British players spent the morning coaching kids as part of a HSBC 7s event in Cape Town before tomorrow's opening fixtures against @tagrugbysa

Will be hoping to upload some more content from this Tour taken in Greenpoint Park by @elitetagtv

We put together this tribute/highlight reel to remember and celebrate the awesome player that was Sam Winter who sadly died last week.

Extremely sad news that has affected many of us in the tag community.
Sam was a fantastic player both on and off the field. He had one of the most wicked left foot steps, partnered with fantastic rugby skills and a dangerous kick through. Performing at the very highest level for GB Men's Open at the world cup in 2018 and since been representing GB for the Men's seniors where he was ubiquitously adored by his teammates.

He will be sorely missed by all those who had the privilege of sharing the pitch with him. by @elitetagtv

Dan, Flo and Goldie came together over a shared frustration with the lack of credibility and exposure tag rugby was getting in the UK. We couldn't understand how such a fun version of rugby was mostly unknown across the rugby community, with Touch being the only off-season code really known.

The 2019 UK tag Nationals and the B&I cup were a boiling point for us. Goldie and Dan couldn't play due to injuries and weddings and so found each other trolling in the comment sections about how embarrassing the livestream quality of the tournaments were. We said, "we can do better".

COVID provided time and space for us to create the Elite Tag Network Ltd and start thinking about ALL the ways we could build an audience for the 2021 world cup. Inspired by Gary San's first attempts on YouTube and sports like Spikeball being broadcast on ESPN, we started filming Superleague games. Postponements and generally life with COVID has proved challenging but we are proud of the content we have managed to put out so far.

Earlier this Summer, @Trytagrugbythamesvalley did us the honour of commissioning our first job and we recorded 12 games from the Oxford Tagfest tournament. We have teams often approaching us for their tries and highlights and generally the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

The three of us have been doing this on a ridiculously low budget as well as having full time jobs ourselves so our ability to consistently push content has been increasingly hard. We wanted to cover the UK Nationals 2021 but with Goldie and Dan participating, we wouldn't be able to manage it. It's vindicating, however, to see that TTR have approached 247.tv who cover England Touch!

It might not be us doing the work but I think our goal was always to try and sell Tag rugby as something worth looking into the future for. To legitimise the sport and grow its appeal. To prove that there are gains to be had by showing people what Tag Rugby is all about. We have really enjoyed collaborating with @therugbytrainer Ben John for example, who we introduced to Tag Rugby and is enjoying it hugely.

This is just the start and we are really excited for where Tag could be going...

Stay tuned!

Which one was your favourite?

A full video should be coming out soon with the top 10 or so and we will be asking you to vote for them on YouTube! Keep an eye out for that.
