Striking the balance between authenticity and clarity is so tricky with #accentwork ⚖️

I am very confident with my French and will often give different options in my auditions. But any other non native language (including German which I speak fluently) involves a lot more leg(/mouth?)work 👅

Je suis tellement heureuse de pouvoir enfin partager avec vous la version audio française de 𝙇𝙖 𝙍é𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙖 𝙑𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙚.

Tru est rebelle, sarcastique, farouchement indépendante… et elle n’a jamais été très douée pour faire ce qu’on attend d’elle. 🌈✨ Ajoutez des vampires, de la magie, du danger et une bonne dose de chaos, et vous obtenez l’une de mes héroïnes préférées à écrire.

🇫🇷 the French use: “C’est quoi le rapport avec la choucroute” - literally “what’s it got to do with the sauerkraut” to say that something is unrelated/doesn’t mean anything in the context.

🐺 LES PAPOTES, ON CHANGE COMPLÈTEMENT D’AMBIANCE ! 🐺

Après les concombres et la cosy fantasy, me voilà avec une louve, des métamorphes, un dragon… et une héroïne qui a clairement décidé 😂

Forrest est coincée sous sa forme de louve depuis ses neuf ans. Quatorze années de maltraitance, d’humiliations et de violences au sein de sa meute.

Autant vous dire que découvrir son passé m’a brisé le cœur. ❤️‍🩹

Mais Forrest n’est pas seulement une victime. C’est une survivante.

Une nana qui va devoir apprendre à vivre, à être libre, à se connaître et surtout à reprendre possession de sa propre existence.

Et franchement… elle est complètement allumée du bocal. 🤣🐺

Je l’ai adorée !

Parce que malgré les thématiques très difficiles — maltraitance, harcèlement physique et psychologique, féminisme, reconstruction, quête de soi — l’histoire conserve énormément d’humour et un vrai côté décalé.

Et puis il y a Owen ❤️ et Aragon 🐉, deux personnages que j’ai particulièrement appréciés et qui apportent énormément à Forrest.

L’univers m’a également beaucoup plu : créatures fantastiques, métamorphes, mystères, danger… mais surtout une vraie impression de découvrir quelque chose de différent.

🎙️ Côté interprétation, Elisabeth Lagelée accompagne très bien l’histoire et met particulièrement en valeur l’humour et le côté déjanté de Forrest.

✨ Résultat ?
Un véritable page turner, qui m’a émue, fait rire et m’a offert une très belle évasion.

🌭👀 A new expression I discovered in the delicious “Cucul” by @camille_emmanuelle 💕

🇫🇷 The French use “Avoir des peaux de saucisson devant les yeux” - literally “to have sausage skins in front of your eyes” - to say that they’re being dense/slow on the uptake 😂
