It’s been so long but I don’t worry I’ll be @perthcomicartsfestival for the annual instalment of my book progress. I am so happy to share a chapter 1-4 preview before the full 10 chapter book comes out early next year💪 I have had to teach less recently to get it finished and it’s really nice to know my students miss me and are very sweetly cheering me on 😍🥰 by @elizabethmarruffo

In the recently-post-pandemic days of 2022, Gabe and Meg hopped over to Boorloo/Perth during the midst of the @perthcomicartsfestival. Despite being knee-deep in festival organisation, we were lucky enough to have photogenic festival co-founders Elizabeth Marruffo (@elizabethmarruffo) and Campbell Whyte (@campbellwhyte) walk us through their journeys from fine art, to finding ways to work and representing the places they love in comics, and cultivating a thriving local creative community. Holy moly they're busy!

Pictured in this post is 'Maggie', the handcrafted main character of Elizabeth's upcoming comic 'Pup Pup is the Boss of the Stars', and a message from @jshsantospirito in Campbell's copy of 'The Long Weekend in Alice Springs'. They are taken from two of 11 stories as part of the Marruffo and Whyte Interview, available to read now on foliocomics.com.

Come say hello at the Adelaide Town Hall. Meet the tiny, felted hero of my next book, Maggie Mouse in person and pick up the first three chapters of Pup Pup is the Boss of the Stars!

I’ll be at Table 52.

See you there. 🐭

10 years goes by pretty fast!

Here we are, 10 years ago, starting Milktooth with a big dream and a lot of hopes.

Now, 10 years later we’re still going strong and this year at the @perthcomicartsfestival we excitedly shared our latest comics along with a dozen of our Milktooth students tabling on their own for the first time and over 60 new student comics at our Milktooth table.

We can’t wait to see what the next 10 years brings and want to thank everyone who’s been a part of this great big creative adventure. taken in State Library of Western Australia by @elizabethmarruffo

Now that @perthcomicartsfestival is wrapped up for another year, I’ve had 3 days of rest/a cold, it’s time to focus on the exciting expansion of my business @milktoothspace 💕 thank you Nat from @mind.body.heart for the floor and kitchen install - I will miss you being our neighbours 😭
Yes it’s hard to run a small business so I continue to be grateful to our students and parents for supporting what we do here 💕💕💕 by @elizabethmarruffo

💭Maggie, don’t give up your daydream💭
Reworked page from chapter 2 of my upcoming graphic novel
It will be coming out through @topshelfcomix
I’m deep in the crafting of this work and happy to be able to reuse painting of mine in new ways like in this page of comics.
