Wanted to take some time to highlight the artistic process behind this piece! 👀 — The origin of this actually came from a collector asking to commission the art. I knew what kind of time and effort would be required, and they graciously allowed me to turn this into a drop instead 🙏🏻 — I purchased new (digital) brushes for this project. I knew to get that true Van Gogh appearance, I would need to be able to simulate real impasto and dry oil paint to the best of my abilities. 🎨 — This artwork took a over 8 hours, with over 15,000 individual brush strokes 🤯 — The first 5-6 hours are the first 30 seconds, then the last couple hours are the last 30 seconds! ⏱️ — In the first 30 seconds you will see me lay out (digital) daubs of thick oil paint with impasto brushes to create the shape and shading. 🖌️ — In the final 30 seconds of the video (2-3 hours real time), I used a couple different dry brushes to properly blend the paint and add more realistic values and transitions between them, while also defining key brushstrokes to give it more defined shape where necessary. 🤓 — It is rare that not only am I this proud of my art, but I’m excited enough to talk even more about the execution.😅 — To those who don’t know, this is an homage to the iconic “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” card which has been INSANELY sought after in the modern collecting community. 😮 — If you watch until the end, you’ll see what one of these 1 of 1 Mint9 art pieces looks like! 😎 — Thanks for taking the time to read all this and watch the video. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! ❤️‍🔥 — #cardart #customcards #procreate #pikachuwithgreyfelthat #gengar by @eljefe.creative

To those of you who don’t know, since November of 2024 I’ve been running my own collectible art brand, @mint9collectibles 👀 because of that, I don’t get to post here as often anymore — With Mint9, I don’t always get to stop and talk about the art. But if you swipe on this post, you’ll see the ICONIC cover art to the first ever Superman comic. Paying homage to it with a Mando twist was incredibly fun! — Before Mint9, I don’t know if I ever would have tried making this. It was outside my comfort zone, time consuming, and pretty difficult. However, because I now get to make my own art for a living, challenges like this are now opportunities — To any of you that have read this far, I appreciate your time. It’s crazy that in the Fall of 2019, I had the idea to start putting my art on social media. The goal was to have fun and maybe open some doors along the way. Never really knew what to expect, but I don’t think that version of me 7 years ago could even IMAGINE it would lead to this! — And if you’ve read THIS far, I’ll leave you with a quote: “Expectations should be seen as a privilege, not a burden. Because it could be worse; people could expect nothing of you at all.” by @eljefe.creative
