Wanted to take some time to highlight the artistic process behind this piece! 👀 — The origin of this actually came from a collector asking to commission the art. I knew what kind of time and effort would be required, and they graciously allowed me to turn this into a drop instead 🙏🏻 — I purchased new (digital) brushes for this project. I knew to get that true Van Gogh appearance, I would need to be able to simulate real impasto and dry oil paint to the best of my abilities. 🎨 — This artwork took a over 8 hours, with over 15,000 individual brush strokes 🤯 — The first 5-6 hours are the first 30 seconds, then the last couple hours are the last 30 seconds! ⏱️ — In the first 30 seconds you will see me lay out (digital) daubs of thick oil paint with impasto brushes to create the shape and shading. 🖌️ — In the final 30 seconds of the video (2-3 hours real time), I used a couple different dry brushes to properly blend the paint and add more realistic values and transitions between them, while also defining key brushstrokes to give it more defined shape where necessary. 🤓 — It is rare that not only am I this proud of my art, but I’m excited enough to talk even more about the execution.😅 — To those who don’t know, this is an homage to the iconic “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” card which has been INSANELY sought after in the modern collecting community. 😮 — If you watch until the end, you’ll see what one of these 1 of 1 Mint9 art pieces looks like! 😎 — Thanks for taking the time to read all this and watch the video.
