Lately, life has felt like a deep inhale. A long exhale. A turning of the page.

I’m in a season of new chapters — not the loud kind, but the soul-led kind. The kind where you’re not rushing toward what’s next, but finally letting yourself be in the now.

Because sometimes, the universe sends someone — not to stay, but to stir.
A mirror disguised as a moment.
A chance meeting that feels like déjà vu.
Not to rescue, but to remind.
That your heart is still whole. That healing isn’t always heavy.
That someone, without knowing, can place their palm over your invisible scars
and make them feel less like wounds,
and more like wisdom.

What once felt like pain begins to feel like a gift in disguise.
And you realize - the ache, was just life, lovingly re-routing you.
And that strange wash of gratitude?
It comes when you understand that not everything that hurt you was meant to harm you.
Some things were sent to crack you open
just to let the light in.

I’ve been writing a book, quietly threading together the truths that have shaped me — stories I’ve lived, lessons I’ve earned. I’m learning that rest is just as sacred as the work. That silence can be louder than noise. That presence is a gift I’m finally unwrapping in full.

This week, after two years away with a shoulder injury, I got back in the ocean. Surfed again — sunrise and sunset. Let the salt sting my eyes and the waves carry something heavy out of me. I’d forgotten what that felt like — not just the adrenaline, but the belonging. The reminder that no matter where I am in the world, the ocean is home. She speaks a language I know in my bones. Happy Birthday to my best friend, Katie ✨

It’s hard to believe it’s only been six years, because it feels like a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. From sharing our dream beachfront house in Bali - where “two-minute coffees” turn into four-hour marathons - to popcorn nights, big belly laughs, holding space for each other during loss, love, spa days, being my fit model, my dog mama co-parent and all the in-betweens, you’ve been my constant, my biggest cheerleader and wise owl.

We’ve ridden camels in the Sahara, made pasta in Tuscany, and carried each other through moments big and small. In just six years, we’ve managed to collect a whole book of memories across the world.

Katie, you are the kindest, most giving souls I’ve ever known, and you touch lives in ways you’ll never fully see. I feel beyond grateful to call you my bestie and sister by choice.

Here’s to the first six years of magic and to all the adventures still waiting for us, screeching in sideways together, I love you endlessly 💛 by @elleactive

After 8 days of feeling like I was caught inside a bad dream, feeling like a violent washing machine spat me out the other end - drained, raw, and completely depleted from a loss and trauma that has shaken every part of me to my core.

This weekend became a lifeline.

48 hours in the jungle, away from everything familiar, surrounded by the most incredible people who held me with such love, safety, and care.

Kundalini sessions, reflexology, spiritual healing massages, blessings, and a life-changing chakra alignment (guardian angels decided to show up in pic 2) with one of Bali’s most gifted healers - each moment peeling away layers I didn’t even know I was carrying and revealing a new life path.

And alongside the incredible healing experience.
Beautiful dinners that fed the soul, so much laughter, and those deep, raw life conversations that somehow solve the world’s problems, and remind you of who you are, and your strength and that although the gut wrenching grief feels like a neverending quicksand, an ultimate life test that has you questioning everything you think is good around you, there is still a flicker at the end of the tunnel.

This weekend was a fork in the road.
A safe place to land, to soften, and to let myself process all of the melting pot of emotions I have right now.

A reminder of how precious life is and to treasure every moment we have on this mama earth and to truly live large, screeching in sideways and show up every day authentically with love and gratitude.

Tomorrow, I will say goodbye and step into the scary and messy work of processing this grief and somehow finding my way forward.

My heart is heavy and light all at once, both empty and somehow fuller than ever.

Grateful doesn’t even come close. by @elleactive

Sometimes people come into your life like a wave you didn’t see coming - wild, beautiful and hard to forget.
And sometimes, those connections are messy and magic. Real and raw. Full of laughter, spark, discomfort and truth. Unexpected and unforgettable, even if they leave you with more questions than answers.

Not every story has an arc you can follow.

And you don’t always get to choose how they stay.
Or if they stay.
But you can choose how you hold them.
I’m learning not to run from the storm. Not to climb the nearest tree and hide and hoping it passes. But to walk into it. Head high. Heart open.

Growth doesn’t happen in the calm. It happens in the ache, in the shift, in the - I’m not quite sure but still showing up. It happens in the choosing - not of others, but of yourself.

To choose to feel it all.
To laugh loudly anyway.
To find joy in your own company.
To say the real thing even if your voice shakes.
To hold space for what was and still have room for what’s next.

I’ve been thinking about that lately - how rare and beautiful it is to love people where they are and not where you wish they’d be. To honour their timing, their space, their storm... even if it doesn’t match yours.

That’s not weakness. That’s strength.
That’s not neediness. That’s depth.
That’s not settling. That’s love - the ride or die kind. The kind that sees people fully and still shows up with an open heart.

It doesn’t mean you abandon yourself.
It means you anchor in your truth and still hold space with grace.
It means you honour your own worth and their path, even if it runs parallel for now.

Because this life - It’s real and raw and never quite fits the script.
Some days it’s waves and wonder and full belly laughter.
Other days it’s silence and space and learning to trust your own voice again.

And I’m here for all of it.
The mess, the magic and the in between.
I’ll keep showing up, in the storm and full of heart.

Not everyone in your life will love or express themselves the way you do.
But when you know who you are and when you live with that much clarity, passion, honesty, authenticity & gratitude - you become your own true north.

No regrets.
Just honour. by @elleactive

I recently found a photo of myself at 19, and it’s both occupied my mind and had me day dreaming for the last few days.

I’ve felt myself wandering back - remembering her.
Who she was.
What she carried.
And how she was trying so hard to show up in the world.

At 19, she had already left home.
She’d just gotten her first passport.
She was a wild child - passionate, impulsive, and completely in love with life.
The kind of girl who would turn any room, any moment, into laughter, music and movement.
She wasn’t quite sure where she fit in the world yet;
but she knew it wasn’t behind a white picket fence. She’d bought and sold her first business.
She’d learned to walk again after breaking her neck.
Adventure and experience already mattered more than rigidity or material things.
Her quiet rebellion was already in her DNA, choosing freedom over formula, truth over tradition.

She was so bold.
She was so real and raw.
She was always in the moment.
She was living both authentically and unapologetically.

And I couldn’t help but wonder… what would she think of me now?
Would she be proud of who I’ve become?
The choices I’ve made, and the ones I haven’t.
The woman I am.
The values I’ve held.
How I show up in the world.

That wondering turned into an inner dialogue.
And over a few soul-led days… I wrote her a letter.

It was confronting, but healing.
And once it was sealed and sent -
you can imagine my surprise a few days later when she wrote me back.

But first — here’s what I said to her:
the 19-year-old with sand on her feet, stars in her eyes, laughter in her soul and with dance and music in her bones…cont’d in comments. by @elleactive

Some friendships don’t need constant tending — they stand the test of time, 25 years in fact. We picked up right where we left off, like no time had passed.

There’s a kind of magic in the friends who feel like home. The ones who remind you who you are, hold space without judgment, and make you feel safe just by being there.

Life gets busy, but time with people like this is the medicine. Grateful beyond words for these soul connections — they’re everything.🤍

I was four.
My first surfboard looked more like an esky lid than a board.
Short haircut, bubblegum in my hair,
dirt on my face, bruised knees, and always barefoot.

A total tomboy — climbing trees, building forts, BMX always thrown on its side nearby, ready and on standby for the next adventure call.
And the ocean never far away.
Almost like I belonged there.

Because I did.

The ocean’s been calling me ever since.

She’s my compass, my calm, my chaos.
Adventure always starts with sand on my feet and rarely ends without salt in my hair.

I’ve lived, changed and evolved , for sure.
But that wide-eyed, wild spirited kid?
She’s still in here - reminding me every day of my purpose,
and my deep love and connection to Mother Earth.

Chasing freedom, always up for a prank or an adventure, riding waves, chasing mountains, living in nature,
always searching for soul food —
And always with cheeky knowing laughter of what’s to come and heart cracked wide open.

Feet always in the sand.
Eyes both in the moment and on the horizon.
Always answering the call.

And as a magical full stop to it all —
my Mama.
My teacher. My best friend.
Camera in hand,
capturing the wonder.
Just another gift she blessed my soul with.
A reminder today that the universe has me exactly on the path I was meant to be walking which fills me with so much giddiness and gratitude. ❤️ by @elleactive

Being authentic and loving who you are is sometimes so difficult when we place so many hurdles in front of ourselves.
We often wait for others to validate their love for us so as we can feel worthy enough.

Am I smart enough, pretty enough, desired enough, funny enough? Are all questions we ask, ourselves.
Self love is the key to loving who you are. By yourself. When you are alone. Now I am not professing to be an genius on the subject as i am as flawed as the next girl. But I am guilty of all the above, however I do know when I show myself the same nurturing I show those around me, I start to feel good about myself and do not search for validation from others.

Unsettling times ::: Mount Agung has been rumbling and threatening to erupt 🌋 ::: 50,000 people have been evacuated from their homes 😔. Hoping today is peaceful. That Mt Agung is kind. Be safe friends 🙏🏽. ⠀
⠀
If you want to help our brothers and sisters out, needs change daily but it's very cold, so things like warm blankets, thick mats for sleeping, warm clothes for children and adults are at the top of the list. Diapers and baby formula too. Contact @kopernik.info for an updated list and drop-off locations.⠀
