Meet the Author Monday! Since we've hit 2100 followers on here, I thought I'd reintroduce myself. I'm Elle - nice to meet you.

I've been writing spicy fanfics since I was a teenager, but only just completed my first novel late last year. It's currently in the editing phase, but I hope to bring it to you this year: a MM romance with plenty of spice, banter, mental health rep, and PICKLES. Seriously, anything pickle related, send it my way. 🥒

I love trivia (been trying to get on Jeopardy for years), history, listening to and playing music, singing, baking, being outdoors, and being silly. I have kind of a random sense of humor that is weird and has random pop culture references. But if you can appreciate that, then I appreciate you. I consider myself a very honest, open person - if my experiences can help other people, I want to do that. I'm also very much a cat person, and my favorite color is purple.

Exceptional first day in Ontario! Mr. Lavender and I stopped in Hamilton where we visited the pink tunnel and @relaycoffee which acted as Straw+Berry for Scott and Kip in @heatedrivalrycrave

We are staying in the Niagara Falls area - my first time visiting, and it's gorgeous. by @elleetheauthor

It's Libra season!

I love being a Libra, and I always love art interpretations about the zodiac. At a local club last week, I thought one of the murals was super interesting, and I found some information about it. Libras are all about balance, right, and balancing the mind and body. But what if balance also means letting go of the baggage ("it's just poopeh" as @phildunster 's Jamie Tartt says) in your life? Sometimes, letting go will set you free. Be free, my friends, and live the life you've always dreamed of.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

I was overwhelmed by how many of you reached out with a greeting yesterday. It was a wonderful, relaxing day filled with lots of good food. I had coffee and hash browns for breakfast, a Coney dog from Lafayette Coney Island for lunch, and the best pasta and meatballs for dinner at Da Edoardo. Mama Lavender also got me this great book by @sejsejlija 💜 I've loved Cecilia's YouTube channel for a long time, and Svalbard really intrigues me. What an adventure it would be to visit there.

It's my birthday!

I want to reflect on this last year by saying a big THANK YOU to all of you for your support. It means the world to me. Between getting my debut novel published and getting to marry Mr. Lavender, I hope it's a great year ahead.

@kjcharlesbooks is the real MVP.

I had high expectations for this book because I loved "The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen", and it's spooky season, after all. To be honest, I liked it even more than Country Gentlemen!

Zebedee Wyckham is what some might call sloppy, lazy, and generally unsure what he wants to do with his life. What he IS sure of, however, is 1) he wants to make things right with Gideon Grey, his ex boyfriend who also happens to be at this family manor house and 2) something is extremely wrong. He finds out that the family members are there under false pretenses. They're not there to inherit a family fortune. They're there because they all have something to hide, and they're going to die for it so that their psychotic cousin can make a deal with the devil and outlive the family curse. Unless they can escape, that is.

It turns out, Zeb is related to a whole bunch of chucklefvcks who begin falling under the influence of the creepy cousin and his not-so-merry band of household staff. In the end, it's quite literally a fight to the death for Zeb and Gideon to try and get out of the house before Zeb's cousin can have them killed.

This book was quite a rollercoaster, and FUN. I love it when houses like the one in the novel play an equally important role. The winding corridors, the secret passageways... It all makes for a good game of hide and seek.

5 stars. Oh and in this book, nice guys DON'T always finish last. It pays to be kind. by @elleetheauthor

I need a coffee IV!

So sorry I've been a little quiet the last week. Work has been sooooo busy. I worked over 12 hours yesterday, and I'm back again this morning. I also found out that I DO need hernia surgery. I'm trying not to be so nervous about it, but it's hard sometimes. One thing at a time, though. And first order of business...it's my birthday this weekend! I'm going to treat myself hardcore because I deserve it.

The Milky Way!

I've never seen it before. Living in southeast Michigan, I get a lot of light pollution. But last night in Caseville, with nothing but Lake Huron in front of us, it was so easy to look up and spot all the constellations. It really put things into perspective. Sometimes I think that the things I'm going through are all that there is in the world. When in reality, we're just little drops in a very large bucket. That explanation may not sound very nice, but it comforts me. There is so much out there in this world. And so many people worse off than any problem I have. I am blessed, and blessed to know all of you...

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

October is my favorite month. The colors are changing, it's soup season, my birthday is this month, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. There is a lot to look forward to.

A new book and pasta!

I was so excited when @benaldersonauthor and @laurarsamotin new book arrived on my doorstep today. I'm a sucker (ha) for queer vampire romance, and this sounds amazing. Set in Oxford, UK, with two rival vampires - Alexander, son of the monstrous Vladimir, and Tobias, hellbent on exacting revenge on Vladimir for turning him - this promises to be a page-turner. Unrelated, I had pesto pasta with pesto that I made. Success 🤩 by @elleetheauthor
