Thanks to everyone who ran in the weekends Coledale Horseshoe and were out braving the elements. It definitely shows that fell runners are a hardy bunch and also the marshals!

There was some great racing, well done to all our winners, the male and female winners were Tom Spencer (69.06) and Grace Culling (93.18) respectively.

Your top 2 home at today’s Muncaster Luck Fell Race

Bobby Gard-Strong 1st in 1:27:20 (New CR) closely followed by Josh Hartley in 1:27:27.

Both having to battle up the canon bank to the finish line.

Had a few messages.
This race is still ON.
The rain will just make it more fun. River levels are still low.
If that changes (very unlikely) we do have alternate routes to avoid the crossing.
Both crossing points are marshalled. So you will be watched crossing.

MUNCASTER LUCK.

Get it in your diaries as a reminder.

An historic race that was originally ran dating back to the 1980’s. When it started back up the route was slightly different. However, it’s just as rough now as it was back then.

This is a proper fell race, tougher than you might think. Despite not venturing onto the high fells. The ground between Raven Crag and the Pepper Pot will test your patience, and the two river Esk crossings can be ‘challenging’.

Route from the Pepper Pot (Stainton tower) to the finish will be flagged.

After the second river crossing you will be hoping you’re not in a close race with someone, as the finish line is up the cannon bank to the castle. A tough finish on tired legs.

The fell season is well and truly underway and Ellenbourgh have a couple of organised races coming up!

The classic Muncaster Luck is next weekend on the Sunday 15th, 15km/620m, entry on the day only.

Coledale Horseshoe is on Saturday March 28th and is pre entry only, 13.7km/1067m, head on over to Events Up North to get your entry before they all go!

Will Finlay Grant turn up to smash another fell record after his amazing win at Blackcombe?

It’s Coledale HorseShoe this weekend.

A few runners have been asking.
Although Sail Fell summit isn't a CP, runners must go over the summit and not use the trod to the left that avoids going over the summit. We have been asked to make this trod to the left strictly out of bounds. If in doubt stick to the path.

Message will be repeated to all runners prior to the start.

The Hodgson Brothers Mountain Relays in summary, Shaun bled out, Kempy moaned, CK didn't know it was Sunday, Mark needed a bathroom stop, Lister cried, Rich got cold, Dava sprinted and Will heard the word shunt alot.

A great day with Ellenbourgh finishing in the top half of the field.

Our eldest member Jackie Winn was out competing over the weekend in a Vertical Kilometre near his home town in France 🇫🇷 he took top spot 🏆 in the V70 category beating fellow Brit Rob James into 2nd place

The club had runners out at The Three Peaks Race and Langdale Fell Race this week end.

At the 3P’s the lads didn’t produce any PB’s but had a great day out on a tough course.

Rich Houghton had a top run at Langdale to finish in 18th
