My husband and I decided to take a detour and visit Bart’s Books for the first time. It did NOT disappoint! 📚

Did you know there’s a little free library in front of the Painted Ladies? I had to stop by and see what was on the shelves 👀

📍 @coalescebookstore in Morro Bay, CA

Such a cozy coastal independent bookstore 📚

I loved walking through the shelves that led to a beautiful garden out back. There is even a chapel you can get married in… can you imagine? 😍

The next time you drive down Highway 1, definitely make a stop in Morro Bay to visit this shop! And grab a cup of coffee from @the.rock.espresso.bar while you’re there! ☕️

This doesn’t even include the 10+ hours I spent listening to Secret History on audio 😂🎧 📖

When I saw @readwithmandi share her reading on vacation, I immediately felt inspired to capture my anniversary trip to California with my husband ☀️

✈️ We landed in LA on our first day, then made our way north to San Francisco along Highway 1 🏔️ 🌊

Between slow mornings, cozy bookstores, glasses of wine, beautiful views, and plenty of reading, it was definitely a trip we’ll always remember! 🤍

HAPPY PUB DAY TO TIME FREEDOM! 📖🎉

My Rating: 4.5 ⭐️

As someone who is genuinely interested in personal finance, I found this book incredibly useful and thought-provoking.

We live in a culture that often tells us to “work as hard as you can and make as much as you can until age 65.” However, if we spend decades following that narrative, we can end up spending a lot of our weeks, months, and years doing things that DON’T bring us joy. There’s something to be said about creating more time, or “time freedom,” to do the things you love before 65!

This book gives you the practical tools to help you better understand your current finances while also showing you what you can do in the next few years (yes, the near future!) to create more freedom with your time. It challenges the idea that you have to wait several decades before you start living the life you want. Instead, this book encourages you to shift your perspective on earning, saving, and investing, and to think more intentionally about how your money can support the life you want to live (spouse, kids, pets, etc. included!).

As someone early in my career, I want to share this book with all my friends and family. It’s never too early (or too late!) to start having these conversations.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in personal finance, anyone who wants to create more time for the things (and people) they love, and especially anyone considering entrepreneurship. The book is full of helpful tips and includes several free resources that make the concepts more digestible. Creators looking to go full-time, this could be the book for you!

Thank you to the author and publisher for the advanced reader copy! 📚✨

💛 Book Review: Better Than The Movies by @lynnpainterbooks 💛

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️¾

There were so many things to love about this YA romance! It was cute, a little cliché, and full of great banter. While there were definitely moments that felt very YA, especially when it came to Liz’s maturity and self-awareness, overall I thought this was a very fun read. 📖

It felt like a classic rom-com, with fake-dating and enemies-to-lovers woven in, and I was SO here for it! Wes Bennet may also be one of my new favorite male main characters. The way he picks on Liz feels real and authentic. Also, his tendency toward indifference as a defense mechanism gave him a lot of depth!

Liz, on the other hand, felt like a classic high school girl. She gets giddy over boys, sometimes loses a little bit of herself in the process, and, admittedly, isn’t always the best friend. But I also thought that made her feel realistic for her age, even when I was soooo over it! 😂

Overall, whether you typically read YA or not, I definitely recommend this sweet, fun romance! 💝

The next time you’re in the Hudson Valley, make sure to add this store to your list!
