People love calling any critique of modern evangelical culture “Christian hate,” but those are not the same thing.

Notice how almost nobody is criticizing Christians for loving their neighbors, feeding the poor, serving their communities, or practicing humility.

The criticism comes from the hypocrisy: 
preaching love while dehumanizing people, preaching humility while chasing power, and using morality as a performance instead of actually embodying compassion.

Critiquing harmful behavior done in the name of Christianity is not persecution. 
And accountability is not oppression. by @ellieunbound

I had a conversation with someone I love who is still very devout…

They said there’s abundant proof. I said I see beauty and mystery, but I don’t know. They admitted they don’t technically know either, they believe.

And that’s when it clicked: We both live without certainty. We just bridge the gap differently.

They’re comfortable calling their experience evidence. I need something more tangible before I label the infinite.

I’m not closed or anti-God. I just won’t claim certainty I don’t have. If there is something ultimate, I suspect it’s bigger than our theology. Bigger than our language. Bigger than our categories.

Maybe humility fits the divine better than confidence does.

Accountablity starts with us.

Have the uncomfortable conversations. Ask questions, Stay curious. Hold people accountable, even when they are on your “side”.

And don’t underestimate the power we have collectively to shape our communities and our future.

Stay informed, get involved, and use your voice and your vote.

i’ve genuinely been both people in this conversation.

I used to be the friend offering books, Bible studies, prayer, and church invites, because I thought I was helping. Now, on the other side of it, I can attest to how unhelpful that can feel when someone is trying to figure out what and why they actually believe.

I think this is becoming increasingly more obvious, but: religious beliefs aren’t evidence of guilt or innocence!

Nolan and his family deserve answers, not fear-based religious confessions.

I want to be very clear that this isn’t about defending Hassan or excusing what he did. It’s about the contradiction of advocating for the sanctity of all life, while allowing the government to decide when that life is no longer worth preserving.

Especially when the same Christian values being invoked include transformation, change, and red redemption.

Sometimes it feels less like pro-life and more like pro-birth… because once you’re born, you’re right to live apparently becomes negotiable. by @ellieunbound

I think the biggest part of deconstruction for me was realizing that I wasn’t just questioning what I believed – I had to question the framework I was using to decide what was true.

And I think that that’s something we are all vulnerable too. We can surround ourselves with people, information, routines, and experiences that continually reinforce what we already believe.

For me, stepping outside of that system meant finally being willing to ask “what would actually change my mind?”

I didn’t step away from Christianity because I found a better set of answers. I lean towards agnosticism because I became more comfortable admitting when I genuinely didn’t know.

The uncertainty that I found was not the failure I had been taught it was. It was actually the most honest conclusion I could reach!
