Choose progress over perfection.

Fall in love with the process of building, of creating, of failing and overcoming in spite of.

Plant your roots so deep that when people see your harvest they marvel at its beauty. Sow intentional seeds so they grow abundantly.

Be courageous. Take a leap, you never know what awaits.

To the little girl who watched everything, curiously, intently and with a wisdom far beyond her years.

I see you.
I know now that you were studying the world long before you had words for what you were doing.
I’m still learning from you.

You didn’t know the paths you’d walk or the rooms you’d command, but you believed in what you felt. That belief carried me through every pivot, every risk, every chapter that reshaped me.

Thank you for your wonder, fearlessness, and your softness. You built the foundation I’m standing on.

I’m taking us further now, with intention, with grace, and a vision that honors everything you dreamed without saying out loud.

Another year. A little wiser. A lot more aligned. 🥂✨ by @ellimacjo

i align with the idea of doing things that move my heart & soul. ideation & execution is where i stand. no matter HOW we score, the focus is to put points on the board. we must be persistent in learning our crafts & allow our unique perspectives to impact the world. im pulling from past experiences, current influences & forecasting my future. im simply doing me, the #finesseway.

There’s something about sitting at the footstool of your elders listening to the words of wisdom they’ve acquired over time.

After conducting 10+ interviews and photographing each one, I had to sit back and marvel at the idea of lil ol me co-producing a collection of voices, ideas and images that mean the most to us as a culture.

Crazy to think that I hadn’t picked up a camera for photography in 3+ years. I truly understand the responsibility of capturing folks with dignity. Hopefully, my subjects are proud. #powerofwords
