Marchnad Y Marram is back this Saturday, 17 October, 10:30am to 4pm in Niwbwrch.

On the stalls:

Plus our own fish counter (depending on the boats: sea bass, Menai mussels, Amlwch prawns and dressed crab), pastries, pork pies, sausages, roast pumpkin soup and burgers.

Calan Gaeaf, Saturday 24 October. The old start of winter, and the last Saturday before the clocks go back.

10:30am and 1:30pm: family workshops with @sensorisara. Rattles, pumpkin painting, apple prints and a spooky story. £12.50 a child, 25 places a session.

12:30pm: Liam Higginson (@signaturehiggs) talks to Kristoffer Hughes (@kristofferdruid) about The Hill in the Dark Grove. Afterwards Kris heads to the stones at Bryn Celli Ddu, so make your own way and bring boots. From £6, or £12 with the book.

From 6pm: the Calan Gaeaf barbecue in the stretch tent. Long tables and food straight off the coals. £25 adults, £15 under 12s, drinks from the bar until 10pm.

Last night, we were invited down to the Savvy Fox in Wrexham, for their 4 course tasting menu cooked by Ellis Barrie!

This is the first of three guest chef nights hosted at the restaurant. We were greeted with a welcome drink, before an introduction from Ellis about what he’d be cooking for us. Ellis is one of the region’s most celebrated chefs and runs @y.marram in Anglesey.

We started with a Mussel Lamb Cawl homemade Treacle Sourdough - we both agreed this was our favourite course! Our starter was hand-dived scallop with sea vegetables, cauliflower and raisin - the presentation of this was stunning 🐚

Our main really was a celebration of Welsh lamb and our dessert was a gorgeous @cosyncymru Whey Tart.

There was also the option to add on a wine pairing for our dishes for £24.95 🍷

Last night we welcomed @ellis.barrie for our first Kitchen Takeover, and what a gorgeous evening it was! 🙌

From the first course to the lamb shoulder, it was an incredible meal and a brilliant way to kick off the series.
