The Good Parts • ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

This was one of the most beautiful stories I have read in a long, long time. I could quite literally feel Landons’ love for Rose pouring through the pages. The writing is hauntingly romantic and paints the most realistic portrayal of true love, love that isn’t always easy and cannot always conquer everything.

I sobbed. Boy did I sob. But I actually love reading a book that moves me so much it ruins my day, do you know what I mean? I’m a hopeless romantic to my core but I think sometimes it’s refreshing and also important to read books which illustrate that the length of a love doesn’t define its impact.

current read: Warrior Princess Assassin♡

I’ve heard such mixed reviews about this book but I’ve been in the mood for something fun and flirty and when I heard this was why choose but for EVERY character, I was intrigued.

If you’ve read this one, what were your thoughts?!

September - February is my absolute favourite time to read, there’s nothing like getting all cosy under a blanket with a candle and a hot chocolate!!! It also feels like the perfect time for some good fantasy reads, so all recs are welcome (she says with an overflowing TBR…)

Guys (sorry not sorry) there’s been a bit of rain, the leaves are flying about and I had to wear a hoodie the other day so it’s now officially autumn in this house🍂🧸☕️

hump day = dump day and here’s just a lil snippet of what August has looked like for me ♡ྀི

I feel like I’ve slowly started to get my mojo back this month and even though the heat wave in the UK has tried to take me down multiple times, we’ve almost made it to the end and we are standing strong!!!!

My favourite part of this month was actually this chicken caesar bagel and you all need to get yourselves down to Notting Hill to experience this. I also read some very fun and exciting books and I feel BACK❤️‍🔥

Fantasy/romantasy/dystopian books on my immediate TBR❤️‍🔥

And yes some of these may look familiar because I’ve had them on my TBR for a very long time, but I’m just a girl x

I fell out of love with fantasy a little bit last month but since then I’ve read some incredible books, and I am firmly back in my romantasy era!!!🧚🏼‍♀️🗡️

Hands up if you abandoned your entire TBR the second you got an ARC from a new favourite author…

Guilty as charged and I’m not sorry about it. The second this email landed in my inbox the arc was downloaded and I’m 20% through and can already tell this is going to be a five star read. Something about @rasandpiper writing instantly transports me into the story, and this one is already so juicy!!!! Thank you for letting me get my hands on this one early♡

current read: Taming 7♡

It’s been a while since I’ve been back in the BoT world and I didn’t realise how much I’ve bloody missed it! Gibsie was one of my absolute favourite characters, and I’m about 50% through this now and I just love him more and more.

Question (and please don’t hate me) at what point am I supposed to start liking Lizzies character?? Although I do feel for her, at the moment I reeeeeally dislike her. Will the next book in her POV change my mind?! ˙◠˙ by @ellsbookcornerx

Let’s talk genre switching ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆

I think everybody knows the key to avoiding a slump is by jumping into a different genre, and I have to say my absolute favourite thing to switch to is a classic!!!! Earlier this year I reread Wuthering Heights and Persuasion (plus the yearly Pride and Prejudice reread obviously) and I’m hoping to reread Jane Eyre next! There’s something so romantic about a classic.

What’s your favourite classic?!

I’ve also picked up this book of love letters again and WHY do people not write love letters anymore? Sorry but that’s such a lost art, I’m sure my words of affirmation girls will agree.

Also, the lore behind Love Letters of Great Men is that Mr Big quotes the poems to Carrie in his emails after he runs out on their wedding day so I immediately bought a copy x by @ellsbookcornerx

WTF?????? (said with respect and admiration but also horror)

Oh my god. Don’t ask me to describe this book because I honestly couldn’t. All you need to know is that I’m equal parts horrified, impressed, angry, awed and well, emotional?

The prose in this book is absolutely beautiful and the writing style is haunting in the best way. The fact that this is a debut is actually terrifying because what is Anavrin going to do to us next????? I can’t handle it.

From the start of this book I was hooked, and as a lover of gothic romance I can honestly say I have never ever read one like this.
