POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I can officially say, I am a @ted X Speaker 😊🔥

My @tedxupretoria Talk was recently reshared by TEDx global and that brought about a flood of emotions. First excitement, then humility, joy, a touch of imposter syndrome and lastly fear. Fear because the topic I decided to speak on is highly criticised and debated across the World. I had a look at some of the comments under the video and although most were positive, there were also the critics, the antagonists and the trolls. But I had prepared for this,… well at least I thought I had.

This fear stopped me from sharing this incredible news for 2 months. But then I remembered, this is MY story, this is MY lived experience and this is MY TEDx Talk so although it is a narrative shared by many it is also one despised by many and that’s OK. 😊🙏🏾

So here it is 😊🙌🏾❤️a snippet of my Ted talk. The link to the full talk is on my bio, please watch the video, share the video, engage with the talk and help me get my African story to the World😊🙏🏾 taken in University of Pretoria by @elma.akob

Welcome to Episode 2 of #RoadToTV 😊 For those who are new here, I’m on a mission to be on your screens as a host/presenter/ journalist/ news anchor, you name it.

So allow me to introduce myself 😊🌸

Don’t forget to tag someone in the comments who should know I exist from tv shows to producers, even @bonang_m 😜

6 years ago my life changed forever🥹. I stood on a stage and used my voice for the very first time and God sent an angel in the form of a gentleman who came up to me and said “You would make an amazing voice over artist”. The rest is history🥹🙏🏾

6 years later and I have done voice over work for over 100 clients, I have a company @elevate.africa which trains VO artists all over the continent and I am signed with the best Agency in the business @osmtalent 🥹❤️

You see that thing people keep telling you you’re good at, don’t take it for granted 🥹🙏🏾 This is my story 🌸 Tell me yours

I only go outside one a year for youth activities and that is when @_theacoustics calls😂 It’s always such an experience filled with live music and talented individuals from across the globe and allows me to step out of my corporate MCing style and into one that mirrors the electric energy of the audience 😊💃🏾

There is no greater reward than in service of others 🥹 so when @ststithianscollege called and said they wanted me to deliver leadership training to their most recently elected leaders, it could only be a YES.

At the end of training, I led these visionaries through a pledge because there is power in your words and leadership is not about a blazer or title, it’s about being accountable to the commitments you make. 😊

This year I’m celebrating Heritage Day by celebrating the women who continue to fight daily for us to have the voice and freedom of expression that we do have in a culture that is widely patriarchal by nature 🤍🖤🙌🏾

Here is a snippet of the piece I wrote for @therealnozi “Who the hell does she think she is”

Tag a woman who opened the door for you😊🤍

WHO THE HELL DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?

In the words of Busisiwe Mavuso 🥹🤍:

She is a woman who knows that being given a platform creates an obligation to use it.
She is a woman who understands that leadership without courage is administration.
She is a woman who knows that occupying a seat means very little if she is too frightened to exercise the authority that comes with it.

She is a woman who knows that she did not get here alone.
She is a woman who knows that she stands on the shoulders of extraordinary women who carried burdens she will never have to carry, so that she could walk into rooms they were never permitted to enter.
She is a woman who can be strong without surrendering her softness.

She can demand excellence and still practise kindness.
She can listen deeply and still decide firmly.
She can exercise power and retain her humanity.
And she can be formidable without surrendering her humanity.

That is who the hell she thinks she is. 🥹🤍

@therealnozi you have no idea how any destinies you realigned because of this event 🥹🙏🏾

Where do I even start! 🥹🙏🏾

@topbillingtv gave us a challenge to co-host South Africa’s favourite breakfast show @expressoshow 🥹🌸 and what an incredible opportunity. This was my FIRST time hosting on Live TV and let me tell you there is so much that goes on in the background from teleprompters going off last minute to switching from one studio to the next in seconds I literally have profound respect for @zanelepotelwa and @wongley for how easy they make it look and just how sweet they were throughout this process😊🌸.

To the team at @expressoshow what a delight to work with you guys! The positivity on set is magnetic! 😊🩷

So there we have it, now we wait for what’s to come next with @topbillingtv. If you missed it be sure to catch my episode on the @sabcplus app for free 😊💃🏾 @sabc3
