📣 🌸 Solidarity Market March 21st, 2026! 1-5pm at our beloved @elserenocommunitygarden !

You’re invited to our collective’s 2nd Solidarity Market! We had so much fun last year, and this year will be even better!

Our solidarity market helps our collective support many of our street vendors in building up and sharing their businesses, in fundraising for those in our collective that are struggling with rent and medical bills, while the county and city have done so little to provide relief from the on going crises of ICE terror in our communities. Only the people can help save our communities!

Check out our slides for:
🌸Program details
🌸Activities and Workshops
🌸Vendor Food menus
🌸 Screenprinting info and more!

Bring your friends and family! Kid friendly activities, and workshops. Support our collective’s street vendors! Come enjoy the garden! Don’t miss out! More info on our raffles and how you can donate if you can’t make it coming soon…

Multiple FREE FOOD offerings from Polo's Pantry @polospantryla will be available tomorrow during lunch at 12PM for the 4th TAKAAPE' WAASHUT NELA BLACK WALNUT DAY

Join grassroots community and local partners as we come together to honor and celebrate the resiliency of the Takaape' Waashut (Southern California Black Walnut Tree in the Tongva language) with plant adoptions, a bird walk, community bike ride, hiking, teach ins, art, live music, food and more!! Free and open to the public

Black Walnut Day is an annual gathering held
during harvest season to honor the SoCal Black Walnut as a resilient member of our Indigenous, Latine, Chicanx, migrant and BIPOC community. Black Walnut Day was born out of the struggle against a multi-million dollar development that would have destroyed 110 Black Walnut trees and habitat and
threaten 900 nearby tenants with economic
displacement. Reclaiming this Land has led
to regenerating relationships with the land
and Peoples across Northeast Los Angeles.

• Practice sustainably harvesting
• Process seeds for the seed library
• Arts & crafts for youth
• Interactive theater
• Explore NELA open spaces through hiking
and bird watching
• How can you help prevent displacement
• Recognize the signs of green gentrification
• Talk about the science of NELA hillsides
• Prevent the destruction of habitat
• Cultivate your relationship with the Land
• And, be a caretaker of Land

In April 2025, the Abolish 41.18 Campaign demanded that Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez repeal the 41.18 criminalization zones created by his disgraced predecessor, Mitch O’Farrell. LA Municipal Code 41.18 criminalizes sitting, lying down, sleeping, and having personal property in countless public spaces throughout the city.

While Soto-Martinez spent most of his first term upholding a violent status quo, LAPD utilized 41.18 to arrest hundreds of poor people in his district for simply existing in public. After 16 months of organizing, political education, and escalating direct actions, Soto-Martinez finally repealed the 12 zones in his district that he has the authority to remove.

While we celebrate this repeal with the unhoused people who are directly impacted, we acknowledge that this is a small first step. Countless more 41.18 criminalization zones exist across LA, including hundreds of large zones in Councilmember Soto-Martinez’s district, that cannot be removed without repealing LAMC 41.18 in its entirety.

We call on Councilmembers Eunisses Hernandez and Ysabel Jurado to immediately introduce motions to repeal all 41.18 zones that their disgraced, racist predecessors Gil Cedillo and Kevin de León created in their districts. by @elserenocommunitycare

Please be advised of this suspicious car in the community that was parked on the intersection of Edison Street and El Sereno Ave. The car was parked idling for around 40 minutes and neighbors assumed they were scouting. When neighbors went up to talk to the driver to communicate they were ignored. Driver quickly drove off after 5 minutes of being approached.

More information about the car: Dark gray pacifica, no front or back license plates, shiny and looks new, airport license plate holder, dark tinted, was sitting with engine running at the corner for at least about 40min (10:50am-11:30am)
