We’re super excited to welcome artist Melissa Lakey for this month’s First Friday. Born and raised in Idyllwild and now based in Joshua Tree, Melissa’s work is deeply rooted in the landscapes and spirit of the desert and mountains we all love. Her paintings have a beautiful, magical quality that feels right at home during these long summer evenings.

Melissa will be here throughout the event to connect with the community, share the inspiration behind her work, and sign prints. Meet Banjo 🐾

Banjo is our first stock dog @bosqueelsereno ! He came to us as a gift from our friends @reedvalleyranch and will eventually help us manage our ever-growing flock.

For now though, Banjo is busy being a puppy - he will be hanging out at the shop this week for some socialization, so stop by to say hello and get a few puppy kisses. 🤎 by @elserenomercantile

Idyllwild’s First Friday summer series kicks off this week, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s shaping up to be an incredible season on the mountain.

First Fridays are all about celebrating our mountain community. Businesses throughout town will be staying open late, hosting special events, offering refreshments, and creating plenty of reasons to stroll, shop, dine, and connect.

First small-batch launch is happening this Friday at 9am PST over at @elserenomercantile. We’ve created a limited run in the most gorgeous Matcha green, made from 100% cotton. This batch is slightly heavier—in the best possible way.

Set your alarms—these will go live at elserenomercantile.com this Friday, April 3rd at 9:00am PST. We’ll be shipping within the U.S., and I’m so excited to share this first official release of Sheltered Co. 2.0 with you.
