From September 2- 6th we had the pleasure to be part of the Allen Ginsberg centennial at Little Island, under the direction of our dear Thomas Bartlett (@tingalayo )
It was a real New York kind of week! Had the pleasure to meet Ginsberg twice- once in late 80’s after one of his readings, then early 90s when Oren and I were playing a jazz set at George Plimpton’s party. Ginsburg was a delight, and we talked about Paris, Bessie Smith… Hope his spirit was conjured. Here are a few glimpses from stage and behind the scenes. Sorry not to have photos of everyone! Most are tagged in photos, but missing are @mxviv @rufuswainwright @alsoanoperasinger @taylormacnyc @mobrowne @michaelcunningham_grig @ginagershon @terrancehayes @winokurz @allenginsbergofficial @ellahunt @rachelzegler @eddiestern @dschnirman taken in Little Island NYC by @elysianfieldsny

Just a sampling assortment of colors and treasures to be had from the EF shop. Only a couple dozen shirts left! Well everything is low stock, really. And finally procuring your very own digital copies is also encouraged. @bandcamp Friday is today- link in bio, means what happens today is just between us. And we’re gearing up to create the next record, so… We love you and thank you. EF 100% in de pen dent by @elysianfieldsny

Where we’re at. Today we’re just demoing up all the new songs/material. So we’ll see what we have for the next record. I have so many notebooks and scraps, never in order, so I’m constantly making winding maps… It’s early, but I’m kinda excited. ♥️ #process taken in Boomtown by @elysianfieldsny

In case you missed this a couple years ago on JC’s Bandcamp, you can now listen to the whole of Edith Wharton’s 1900 novella “The Touchstone” on the @ojetstudios YouTube for free (link in bio). Happy Solstice. Sometimes you need an audio book, especially on a long drive. If you care for chapters, you can still purchase on the JC Bandcamp. by @elysianfieldsny

I honor the beautiful and meaningful life of Robert Thurman, who left us yesterday. Your talks and teachings have meant so much to me over the years. I feel profoundly grateful to have taken part in this year’s @tibethouse.us benefit this past March, and especially to have felt such a special and luminous connection with Bob. Such warmth, light, openness, and love. All of that light continues. And I see you in spheres of joy in the sacred and infinite realms. Beautiful passage. I will always hold you in my heart. Thank you Bob. Om Mani Padme Hum. My prayers and love to Nena and your entire family, and all the souls you have touched and gently guided. Lucky us! ♾️. @bob__thurman by @elysianfieldsny
