Celebrating the amazing women in sport and the equally amazing men who champion them. ❤️❤️
Humbled by the amount of messages I’ve had from both men and women (I am going to give menstrual cups another go) about the unglamorous reality of racing on your period. 💪
This is true female sport and the more barriers we can break through the better.
For context (and hopefully this answers many questions) :
I raced in a swimsuit because I over heat and pass out in hot races, on my period my body temp is also higher.
I have a full length suit for the cooler races in dark colours but the light colours we were experimenting with for the cooling effect. It is dark at the bottom and at the back but my bike position has changed and now I roll more forward (lesson learnt for next years suit design).
A lot of the photos you can’t see anything, pouring water over yourself at aid stations does the trick and if it doesn’t you end up with one photo like this but the idea to edit it means there is something wrong with it.
If you wrote to me saying 99% of the women you know would be mortified at this then that is exactly why I am sharing this, because there really is nothing wrong. Its natural and coming from eating issues as an endurance runner when I was growing up where I didn’t have my period, I now see it as beautiful.
So if you have a photo like this, save it, cherish it, remember how you performed on a tough day because one day you might just be able to help someone else with it. ❤️❤️

Can’t thank everyone enough for all the kind messages and support ❤️❤️
Sometimes, no matter how hard you work to fix a problem, you still fail. 💪 And that’s ok, I’m here for it all, for the highs AND the lows, and don’t regret that we had the courage to try. 🙌🙌

menstrual stigma 🩸🌸 Periods are a regular part of life - and it’s wild that society teaches women to feel ashamed of them.

According to recent research from 2025 - all my sources are in the final slide btw - nearly 6 in 10 teens (59%) feel personally affected by negative associations of menstruation. That’s insane!

Here are just a few examples of what women can achieve while menstruating. We are not delicate little flowers. We are capable human beings, deserving of respect and dignity.

A quick turnaround flying home in time for @waterfallcity half marathon but it was definitely one I didn’t want to miss ! ❤️
Last year I stood and cheered on our athletes with a 3week old Locky excited to be a part of it this year and you can see why this race sells out! 💪💪

3rd at British Half Marathon Champs @officialbighalf 🥉
Felt good on the lap through town hitting 10km in 33:05, then around 12km we made the long push to Cutty Sark into the wind and it was all about just suffering and hanging onto the podium 🙈
Not the time I came for but so good to be back racing the girls and congrats @eilishmccolgan and @jesswarnerjuddxx ❤️❤️
A super busy but fun time in London catching up with so many friends, family and athletes 🔥
Now back to work 💪💪

From world-class athletics to the very top of international triathlon, Emma Pallant-Browne has built an extraordinary endurance career.

A former European U23 Cross Country Champion and World Junior 1500m medallist, Emma has gone on to claim multiple IRONMAN 70.3 victories, World Championship podiums and world titles in both Duathlon and Aquathlon — with a 1:11 half marathon PB to her name.

First double run day since being off with my Achilles 🙌🔥
Learnt a big lesson today. I raced in the morning, had drug testing, then prize giving then drove home to the treadmill 🏃🏻‍♀️ Thanks to drug testing I drunk heaps more than I normally would and I felt great in my 2nd sesh 👌

Whether you’re in Europe’s heat wave 🔥 or Joburgs big freeze 🥶 I think we could all do with a bit more hydration 💪
