I simply have to document the final day of install; the longest rehearsal process of my life. Longer than community and high school theatre. In musical theatre, you learn, tech and open a show in three weeks. It’s fast and furious. Xcel cast 2.0 started rehearsals in Miami February 10th. We had a week off before boarding May 27th. On board we’ve opened two shows in the theatre, two club shows and we open our final theatre show tomorrow: July 9th. This process has been the ultimate test of pace, patience, perseverance, self care, rest, and mental agility. Cruise ship performing is not for the weak and I admire all the artists doing it. This wasn’t just an act. It was a collision.
