congrats to @farhangfoundation on another successful Gala.

my piece “Iran Zamin” was donated to their auction to help raise funds for all the free Iranian heritage programming they organize across the United States.

To be frank this was a very difficult and problematic piece to execute because it was more graphic and the scale of the grid was smaller than usual.

it really came down to the wire, but special thanks to the executive team at Farhang for their support and patience.

Also a special thanks to the legend of Iranian music @shahbal.shabpareh and the Black Cats for the best music at the Gala ive seen since being involved. taken in Beverly Wilshere Hotel, Rodeo Drive by @emesghali

Last Saturday, HAYAT reminded us that life isn’t about reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.

It’s about how brightly we shine while walking through it—and the lives we illuminate when our paths cross.

August 29 was one of those crossings.

This is HAYAT. This is life.

We want to thank all the partners and collaborators that helped make Hayat a success, first and foremost our new home at @venue1537 and our sponsors @fadwamasala and @johnahmadrugs and our culinary partner @shashlikhouse.oc

At the Hayat Stage we had wonderful performances by @leilamilki , @solkarec , @bkaymusic and sound by our resident @djelray

Our longtime cultural partner @astralab_la with the amazing Hayat Healing Corner featuring @orinda.studio / @lilalive , @ahnewshah , @ana_fairy_flow , @kindredcoven @sporebecomingrain , @hennabysanjana

All the amazing vendors at the Hayat Bazaar featuring @sahracafe.la ,@menosh.chocolate , @li.b.online @luminousvisi0n , @belovedworldwide_ @hennabysanjana and the @thehealthyschoolbus

Algunas obras no buscan decirte qué mirar.

Bienvenido. 🎨

No War on Iran.

*LINK IN BIO* I’ve designed the No War on Iran shirts along with my friends at Mesghali Studios because movements need language AND visuals.

People don’t always arrive through political consciousness through talk first. Sometimes they arrive through culture that opens the heart. A design can travel where speech sometimes can’t.

That’s why I chose Azadi Square. Azadi means freedom. For Iranians, that image carries more than architecture. It carries history, longing, and dignity. It’s one of those places that lives in the political imagination of a people.

For the second design I chose the image of the Hezar Daf festival in Kurdistan because there is something powerful about seeing a gathering of people playing a rhythm to spiritually ascend as a community. To me it feels like the opposite of war. War dehumanizes and reduces people to targets. That festival represents continuity, beauty, and a spiritual force that reaches toward oneness.

I wanted these shirts to say something simple and human: Iran is not a battlefield. It is a people. A culture. A CIVILIZATION.

If we’re serious about building an anti-war movement, we have to make that visible. * Proceeds to be donated to OFAC compliant charities serving people affected by the war. by @emesghali

UPDATE 04/01/26:

Ali has been released and has been reunited with his family. Thank you for your support.

—————-

Ali Manaie has been detained and taken from his family.

He is a devoted husband and father of three young girls who has consistently followed the rules, attended his hearings, and complied with the immigration process.

Despite this, he was taken into custody by ICE without a clear explanation, separating him from the family that depends on him. This situation raises serious concerns around due process.

We are asking for a prompt and transparent review of his case, and for his release.

You can contact his representative, Sydney Kamlager-Dove (90016), to request oversight and his immediate release:
