Officially, 25 trips around the 🌞 (+ a few days now) & I wanted to share some aspects of my life that grew but haven’t really changed🤍

1 - I am still every bit of my grandpa’s little sassy princess, but now the only “crown” I ever want to wear is my helmet or a baseball cap to class when my hair feels too messy to be in public.
2 - I am still a giddy kid on a pony ride every time I climb aboard a horse, but now I’m also a horsewoman who feels not only the intense joy and love of my sport but also the weight of responsibility I hold when I care for the wellbeing of the amazing animals I call my dance partners and coach upcoming riders who entrust me with their learning and safety in our sport.
3 - Still a scared little human, hopeful that people will be my friend and I will find love someday, but now also a fierce long-distance bestie and partner to the man of my dreams (cheesy but truthful).
4 - Still a “real-life Hermione Granger, A-team, Mathlete, academic force to be reckoned with,” aka middle school nerd, but now also a full-time researcher and course instructor who strives to be the same resources for my students that my teachers were for me (Shoutout to Dr. Lockley and Mr. Melancon - thank you for helping me hold onto my love of learning during one of the toughest times in my life).

These are just a few of the many quarter-life milestones that 5, 10, and most certainly 15-year-old me would cry very happy tears knowing that 25-year-old me gets to live this life. I am so thankful to the little version of me who boldly dreamed up these precious moments and grateful for the horses and humans sharing them with me today.💫 #25 #birthdaygirl by @emi1ydaws0n

#9 years today of doing my favorite job, #horsemom 🐴 can’t believe how fast my sweet baby bean has grown up ~ thankful for every ride, snuggle, and amazing memory with this one❤️06/01/2015❤️ #gotchaday #personalitypic by @emi1ydaws0n

my Mama, my Hero, my Inspo — take your pick, but really she’s all of them🤷‍♀️ #HappyMothersDay to the lady that gave me life and the greatest addiction on earth — being a horsewoman❤️‍🔥🐴 Thank you for all that you do to support me, the boys, and our dreams. We don’t get to pick our parents, but if we did, I’d still pick you. @joliebean13 🫶 by @emi1ydaws0n

2023 — a year so fantastic it’s taken me 31 days to stop using it when dating documents, truly one for the books✨ by @emi1ydaws0n

An incredible week with the best team! It was an honor to host and celebrate our amazing partners who fight for freedom around the globe. This conference filled me with so much hope for peace and cooperation amongst nations as our world faces increasing violence and oppression in many countries. I’m extremely proud to work with an organization dedicated to supporting the individuals and groups working tirelessly to bring freedom and prosperity to all people. Congratulations to my teammates and all of our wonderful partners, donors, and board members on another year of high-impact projects and a phenomenal celebration of our progress this week! by @emi1ydaws0n

Taking a moment to be extra grateful for this precious angel today. November 2013, ten years ago, feels like a lifetime away, and also the blink of an eye; we were finishing the season of a lifetime. I was also going through one of the darkest times in my life. As I’m now feeling the immense pressure of preparing for my company’s 2023 NYC Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner event and finishing my first industry calendar year as a working woman, without the safety net of uni or grad school, I’m feeling extra thankful for my sweetest Médoc who truly saved my life all those years ago. No exaggeration, he inspired the sad, lost, little girl I was at the time to wake up in the morning and keep fighting. So everything I have achieved since then has been, in very big part, thanks to him. Over the last 10yrs I’ve grown so much from these moments. I look at the photos now and deeply appreciate not only the incredible win he gave me in the horse world that day, but also the win in life that I so desperately needed to feel like I belonged. I am so beyond grateful to my darling Médoc for saving my life, being my best friend always, and sticking with me even through my bumbling years of adult ammyhood! I finally felt like after all these years, it was time to share how truly life changing that season and our time at M&S finals was for me. I love you always, Médoc💙 by @emi1ydaws0n
