I highly recommend you go find some peace with the @walkforpeace.usa if their route happens to be going anywhere near you. It was a really special moment.
They will be making it to their final stop in Washington DC by the end of next week.

I’ve had pneumonia for the last 3 months or else I’d be out there with Minneapolis. Please accept this protest from my bedroom. And shoutout to every single person providing us with constant imagery from the front lines. Protect your mental health and your lungs. #minnesota #abolishice by @emileemcgovern

It’s serious bullshit that we have to do this again, but we’re all even stronger now. I’m really proud to be photographing this for @marchforourlives next week. taken in Washington D. C. by @emileemcgovern

Just did a complete update to my website, which I hadn’t done since 2018. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Link in bio. A ton of new photos sorted out by event, most from my time on the road with @marchforourlives. I also really really need an updated bio and I have the hardest time writing about myself and my achievements. So if anyone out there is interested in the job, dm me! #photography #photographer #photojournalism #marchforourlives #parkland #activism #tour #roadtochange #voteforourlives #eighteenx18 by @emileemcgovern

I don’t know about you but I could use a feel good story right now. So here it goes! Back in 2018 I photographed the @eighteenx18 event in California. Can I start off by saying in my defense when I’m behind my camera I’m in a zone, and I just document where I’m led, not based on who a person is. So hours went by before I officially met @auliicravalho, once I did, all professionalism went out the door, and I immediately went into auntie mode, telling her all about my niece Gracie who loves Moana, how many times we’ve watched it together, and what a perfect Moana she made for Halloween. It’s probably no surprise at all what a kind and genuine person Auliʻi is. Without hesitation she offered to record a video for Gracie, making sure to even get into character for her. It was absolutely incredible and to this day I’m the coolest auntie ever. Thank you always!

After years of fighting and protesting for the removal of the Robert E. Lee monument in Richmond Virginia, today was finally the day it was torn down.

This image is from my time spent there last summer.
