As long as the current administration and its bourgeoisie backers remain in power, mass shootings will unnecessarily continue because they are ruled by the @national_rifle_association_
and the #gunlobby
Get @reshare_app • @marchforourlives This morning we woke up to the horrific news of another mass shooting, this time at a beer garden in Austin, Texas. First responders rushed in and stopped the shooter quickly, but an enormous amount of pain remains for loved ones and for the city.

What should have been an ordinary night out became a scene of chaos and trauma. Families are grieving. Survivors are recovering. A community is once again left trying to process the unthinkable.

We are holding the victims, their loved ones, and everyone impacted in our hearts. And we are reminded, again, that this crisis does not pause, does not take weekends off, and does not spare any space meant for joy.

We cannot accept this as normal.

There are so many Latinx LGBTQ+ folks who have and continue to work in the name of liberation, from organizing actions and coalitions to creating safe spaces that empower and support the queer community. We’re highlighting just a few here, but we hope you’ll add more people and organizations to follow in the comments below.

I’ve watched David get harassed often. Pretty much in every city, on every street. Always with the very same rhetoric, because they are all subscribed to the same conspiracy book club. You learn over time that engaging is almost pointless, because when you’re bringing facts and they are countering with this lie that your school shooting was a hoax, you realize they aren’t living in reality with you at all. The reason this matters right now is because one of those individuals peddling this disgusting hot garbage is a republican congresswoman. Marjorie Taylor Greene represents our country in one of the darkest ways. A proud QAnon supporter and extremist. On top of all that she’s also the kind of adult that has no issue following a kid for blocks while calling him a coward. We’ve left them to fight all alone for their lives, and somehow it makes sense in her brain that she’s the true patriot here. She needs to be removed from office now.

As America goes to the polls in the presidential election, Emma González (@emmawise18) pens an op-ed for @VogueMagazine calling for the US to vote as if their lives depended on it.

"I am not the only person with trauma; millions of other people in this country are also mentally ill, have experienced sexual aggression or assault, have known physical violence, have suffered micro- and macro-aggressions, have known sexism and racism and Islamophobia and anti-semitism, have experienced transphobia and homophobia, have known loss. We don’t want this to happen to other people — we should want our world to be better.”

Who loves shooting in a studio environment where you can have everything controlled all day?! 💥📹 It’s sometimes nice from the random south Florida 3pm rain out of nowhere shoot days. 😂 — 📷: @emileemcgovern

Cultural diversity is undeniably important to our country.
However, the Immigration and Nationality Act has long been a subject of debate.
What rights should immigrants have?
Should people under immigration inspection have a right to counsel?

What restrictions do you think we should add to presidential powers on the issue of immigration?

Should we restrict the President’s ability to ban certain groups from the US?

Some people believe that the Muslim Ban and President Trump’s security and travel proclamations have been a tremendous and vital success to improve our national security. However, others argue that the bans result in religious discrimination when issuing visas.

Banner drop over 66 🛣 The power of today’s youth should never be underestimated. #OurPower is showing more & more with each passing day. Time to move on out @nra! The kids, teens and adults who wish to live a life without fear of being shot are now the ones working to shut you down. Our condolences.

Yesterday @mfolva went to NRA Headquarters in Fairfax, VA to celebrate the monumental lawsuit filed by NY Attorney General James against the NRA. We even got a Uhaul to help them pack up! They were so scared of angry teens & young adults they called Fairfax County PD to sit in the parking lot as we simply painted. This organization has been corrupt for far too long, thank you AG James for taking on the fight to take them down too. Time to PARTYYYY! 🥳

I participated in four protests within the first two weeks of June, one of which I co-organized with Makayla White, who is 13 years old.
On June 2nd at City Hall, in response to the Mayor's complicity in the Richmond Police Department’s attacks on protestors.
On June 3rd, the Lee statue. I climbed up the statue, and I didn't expect this, but I was asked if I wanted to speak. I didn't know what to talk about, but I started by reading an excerpt from MLK's Letter From a Birmingham Jail, where he said he is "gravely disappointed with the white moderate," and then I extemporaneously called on "well-intentioned" white liberals to be anti-racist beyond "Blackout Tuesday."
On June 10, I attended a march that started in Monroe Park. I spoke at the rally about the significance of centering schools and the youth prison system in the conversation to defund the police, and it gave me hope that a lot of the people there are genuinely willing to stand with Black youth.
That same day, Makayla and her mom reached out to me about helping her organize a youth rally.
What I loved about the organizing process was that me and Makayla had adults who stood with us, and guided us, but that we were the ones leading it, and the voices of Black youth were centered. I was amazed by the turnout of the community at the rally and its overwhelming support for the Black youth who need to be centered in the history that we're making.
What I'd like to see more of in these events is to not only have people attend to support, but I'd want to see people stand with Black youth instead of talking over us and to unlearn stereotypes and expectations about us that the world has internalized. I want people to take into account that Black youth are taking action against anti-Black racism and state-sanctioned violence, not for a photo-op, but to abolish something that disproportionately harms Black youth. - Stephanie Younger

Are you attending demonstrations?
