Rise to the Table is back, and the search is on for the class of 2027.

In March this year, I had the pleasure of contributing to the inaugural Rise to the Table program, designed to empower female restaurant leaders of tomorrow. I saw firsthand how powerful community, togetherness and mentorship can be in elevating women's careers.

Applications are now open for the next cohort of women. If you’re a chef, sommelier, bartender or service professional and want to leave a mark, apply here: https://www.rosewoodhotels.com/en/impacts/empowering-women-in-hospitality

The program covers a week-long residency at @thechanceryrosewood, followed by a year of mentorship, guidance and support, opening doors to new perspectives and networks creating the momentum for change.

Applications close on 28 October 2026. taken in London UK by @emily.wines

When your last name is literally Wines, you have a lot to live up to. Lucky for us, Emily Wines lives up to hers! 🍷

Meet Emily Wines @emily.wines, Master Sommelier, storyteller, educator, and one of the newest featured voices in The Juice® Voices.

One of only 149 Master Sommeliers in the Americas — and one of just two women to pass all three sections of the MS exam on the first attempt — Emily has built a career making wine feel less intimidating and a lot more fun, from leading wine innovation at Cooper's Hawk to creating wine education that feels welcoming, smart, and totally sip-worthy.

So yes, the name fits.
Very well.

This March felt like it was beautifully bookended by two powerful experiences centered around mentorship and women in leadership.

At the beginning of the month, I traveled to Hong Kong for Rise to the Table, an incredible initiative by @rosewoodhotels and the Rosewood Foundation. Eleven women from around the world were brought together for a week of meaningful mentorship, connection, and growth. In an industry where women make up so much of the workforce, but far fewer leadership roles, creating intentional pathways for future leaders is essential. The depth of conversation, perspective, and generosity in that room was unforgettable.

I closed the month with something equally close to my heart, the Women’s Sommelier Symposium, an event that I created in partnership with the @mastersommeliers_americas This too brought together eleven extraordinary women, all on the path toward deeper expertise and leadership in wine. With only about 11 percent of Master Sommeliers being women, it is not a statistic I have ever been comfortable accepting. We can hope for change, but hope alone has not moved the needle. Building community, mentorship, and access might.

Over two and a half days in Sonoma, we shared knowledge, challenged one another, and created space for honest conversations around exam prep, leadership, and work-life balance. Surrounded by inspiring female Master Sommeliers and leaders across the wine world, the experience was both grounding and energizing.

What struck me most is this: whether or not each of these women chooses to pursue the Master Sommelier title, they now have something just as powerful, a community.

Mentorship, and giving back to the profession I love, is as much a gift to me as I hope it is to those involved. I feel incredibly grateful to have spent this month with 22 brilliant women whose futures I will be cheering on. I already think of them not just as mentees, but as part of a lasting legacy, and as friends. by @emily.wines

Next week, I have the incredible honor of traveling to Hong Kong to speak at Rise to the Table.

@RosewoodHotels presents Rise to the Table, an initiative enabling female professionals to influence the future of global hospitality by offering exceptional access and mentorship. I am excited to be among 11 Rosewood mentors, hailing from every corner of the globe, ready to inspire, challenge, and empower the next generation of women stepping forward in the industry.

Mentorship, especially uplifting women in hospitality, is one of the most meaningful and rewarding parts of the work I get to do. I cannot wait to learn, share, and rise together. by @emily.wines

Cheers to old friends who feel like family and new friends who somehow feel like they’ve been here all along
This year was full of travel, great wine, good stories, and even better meals shared around the table. I’m so grateful for the laughs, the conversations, and all the moments in between.
Happy New Year! Here’s to more of the same in 2026 and plenty more reasons to raise a glass. by @emily.wines

“we are not our age; we are our energy”

With Camille Brilliant, I invite you to toast to pro-aging; embracing the journey with intelligence, grace, dignity, verve, and energy. Here’s to celebrating the richness of life and the beauty that comes with age.

Camille Brilliant is a meticulously crafted blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Munier from the Côte de Bar region of Champagne. It delights the palate with notes of apple cider, preserved lemon, brioche and cream. Aged for 3 years, this wine is a tribute to age, beauty, and wisdom.

Reminiscing about my trip with the @chwinery wine club to Tuscany last month. Seeing the world through the lens of what you drink in a place is the greatest way to immerse in the culture. You meet farmers and families, see the land, eat the amazing food that has been raised side by side with that wine for centuries, and gain a much richer appreciation for the history and the culture. I love being able to share this experience with others.
I’ll be leading a group to Champagne and Burgundy this fall and I can’t wait to dive in deep again!
