I can’t believe we’re actually saying this… Project 1994 has been featured in the June 2026 issue of The World of Interiors. @theworldofinteriors It honestly feels surreal. For as long as I can remember, I’ve obsessively poured over the pages of this magazine — inspired by the artists, writers, designers, and storytellers featured within it — never imagining that one day our work would live inside those same covers. To see Project 1994 included alongside so many wildly talented creatives is such an honor and a moment we truly don’t have words for. This project holds such a special place in our hearts, and sharing it with the world through a publication we’ve admired for years feels incredibly full circle. So grateful for every client, craftsman, artist, and person who has supported our studio along the way. Thank you for believing in our vision. Still pinching ourselves over this one. Project 1994 For those who are new here, hi I’m Emily the lead designer and owner of ENDS. Fun facts about our small but mighty team and our home, featured in the summer edition of @ruemagazine - this project was 3 years in the making. Why? I’d rather hold out for quality over quantity and the right vintage takes time to source - the color of the kitchen cabinets reminds me of growing up on the west side. Brown/ green, earthy and grounded @farrowandball - you should’ve heard the arguments over these brass spot lights. Lots of work but so worth it. I’ll avoid a can light at all means - this doily top is my favorite @helsastudio if in doubt an all white outfit feels so easy and timeless - AJ my husband handles procurement for ENDS. He’s the safe to my all risk approach. Detailed, the best time to work with but challenges every design idea I come up with…which I love. It creates a debate that helps me narrow down the “why” behind each decision - we designed 1994 to showcase our personal design and in the process it healed some longings in both of us of “coming home” - the copper rug in the living room kept me up at night. I kept thinking “if we show this, no one will hire us”. I forgot for a moment we’re not for everyone and slightly weird is definitely on brand - the stormy room feels like a cool breath of fresh air in the tricities heat. @jhwallpaints - someone made the comment that we have “grandma aesthetic” and since I have the best memories of visiting my grandma that felt like a home run. Safe, comfortable and not a copycat of anyone else #interiordesign #homemagazine #ruemagazine #kitchendesigns taken in Washington by @emilynicoaradesignstudio

For @emilynicoaradesignstudio, renovating her own 1970s split-level in Richland, WA wasn’t just about good bones—it was about telling the whole story. Named Project 1994 for the year she and her husband were born, the home moves between nostalgia, tension, joy, and reflection, with every chapter layered into the design. Scroll through for mossy greens with a hint of muddy brown, plastered walls that shift with the light, and vintage finds with stories worth a 36-hour drive to bring home. The full tour is live on theinterior.co today! Design: @emilynicoaradesignstudio | Photography: @amybartlam taken in Richland, Washington by @emilynicoaradesignstudio

Beautiful samples are only as good as the way they’re executed. Design goes far beyond selecting finishes. Every decision affects the next—budget, timeline, construction, installation, and ultimately how the home functions and feels. The real meat and potatoes of full-service design is the project management behind it all: coordinating trades, working through details, anticipating problems, managing selections and timelines, and making sure the original vision actually makes it from the sample board to the finished home. The right team is key to a successful remodel or new construction project. Swipe to see these selections come to life → We’re currently taking on new projects. If you’re considering a remodel or new construction, reach out through the link in our bio to start the conversation.
